  Description

  A dream of wide open spaces and a life closer to nature led us to put our French luggage in the most beautiful region of Quebec: on the north shore of the Saguenay Fjord, 15 minutes from Tadoussac. We manage an area of 120 hectares criss-crossed by trails, a kennel with 60 sled dogs, a few horses, two rabbits, and a house for tourist rental. At the same time, we are gradually renovating our little paradise, while trying to gain food autonomy with our vegetable garden and our fruit trees. An entire program! Your energy, your knowledge and your good humor will be useful to us to carry out all our projects!
  
  We like to share our way of life close to nature and our animals, punctuated by the many outdoor activities possible in the region and aperitifs by the fireside. In return, we are looking for reliable, dynamic and pleasant people, who love animals and are not afraid of the rustic life on a camp. On your free time, we will be happy to show you the region, advise you on activities and beautiful places to see and help you discover local daily life.
  We ask for a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks, to have time to exchange and learn from each other.

  Un rêve de grands espaces sauvages et d'une vie plus proche de la nature nous a amené à poser nos bagages français dans la plus belle région du Québec: sur la rive Nord du fjord du Saguenay, à 15mn de Tadoussac. Nous gérons un domaine de 120 hectares sillonné de sentiers, un chenil de 60 chiens de traineaux, quelques chevaux, deux lapins, et une maison en location touristique. En parallèle, nous rénovons progressivement notre petit paradis, tout en essayant de gagner en autonomie alimentaire avec notre potager et nos arbres fruitiers. Tout un programme! Votre énergie, vos connaissances et votre bonne humeur nous serons utiles pour mener à bien tous nos projets!
  
  Nous aimons partager notre mode de vie proche de la nature et de nos animaux, rythmé par les nombreuses activités de plein air possibles dans la région et les apéros au coin du feu. En retour, nous recherchons des personnes fiables, dynamiques et agréables à vivre, qui aiment les animaux et n'ont pas peur de la vie rustique sur un campement. Sur vos temps libres, nous aurons plaisir à vous montrer la région, vous conseiller sur les activités et les beaux endroits à voir et vous faire découvrir la vie quotidienne locale.
  Nous demandons un minimum de 2 à 3 semaines, pour avoir le temps d'échanger et d'apprendre les uns des autres.

  Established for nearly four years in the region, we have a thousand ideas for activities to offer you, we know the most beautiful spots and the best outing plans to fill your free time. We can take you on our outings or advise you on solo outings. I have also worked in the scientific community on whales, and can thus answer all your questions concerning the marine mammals of the St. Lawrence.
  With our multiple projects, we are constantly learning in all areas, come and learn with us! On the animal side, we have a lot of experience and we always enjoy sharing our passion and knowledge about dogs, horses and positive animal education. The exchanges of skills will be made according to the weather and the time available. We practice traction sports with our dogs: canicross, bikejoring, etc. and with our horses hiking and work on foot.

  Installés depuis bientôt quatre ans dans la région, nous avons mille idées d'activités à vous proposer, nous connaissons les plus beaux spots et les meilleurs plans de sortie pour remplir vos moments libres. Nous pouvons vous embarquer dans nos sorties ou vous conseiller pour des sorties en solo. J'ai aussi travaillé dans la communauté scientifique sur les baleines, et peux ainsi répondre à toutes vos questions concernant les mammifères marins du Saint Laurent.
  Avec nos multiples projets, nous apprenons en permanence dans tous les domaines, venez apprendre avec nous! Côté animaux, nous avons beaucoup d'expérience et nous avons toujours plaisir à partager notre passion et nos connaissances sur les chiens, les chevaux et l'éducation positive des animaux. Les échanges de compétences se feront en fonction de la météo et du temps disponible. Nous pratiquons les sports de traction avec nos chiens: canicross, bikejoering, etc et avec nos chevaux la randonnée et le travail à pied.

  Help

  We will be particularly happy to have help with the maintenance of the vegetable garden, the harvesting and processing of fruits and vegetables as well as the preparation of meals for the whole camp, using fresh produce from the garden. Permaculture skills welcome!
  You will probably also be involved in the daily routine of caring for and feeding animals (dogs, horses, rabbits), and in development and construction work. We will greatly appreciate your DIY skills! Also on the program according to your skills and your desires: chopping wood, erecting fences, helping with the housework, keeping our 7-year-old daughter busy...
  
  
  Nous serons particulièrement heureux d'avoir de l'aide pour l'entretien du potager, la récolte et la transformation des fruits et légumes ainsi que la préparation des repas pour l'ensemble du campement, à partir des produits frais du jardin. Compétences en permaculture bienvenues!
  Vous serez probablement amenés aussi à participer à la routine quotidienne de soins et nourriture des animaux (chiens, chevaux, lapins), et aux travaux d'aménagement et de construction. On appréciera grandement vos talents de bricolage ! Au programme aussi selon vos compétences et vos envies: couper du bois, monter des clôtures, aider au ménage, occuper notre fille de 7 ans...

  Accommodation

  In the summer, we live mainly outside, on a camp site in the heart of the farm. Our family lives in a camper. To accommodate our helpers, we offer, depending on availability, a 24-foot caravan, a large tent cabin and a garden shed converted into a cosy cabin. Our covered outdoor kitchen is collective and shared. On the camp, there are also dry toilets and an outdoor shower area (possibility to use the bathroom and washing machine from time to time). Rudimentary comfort but beautiful atmosphere, with starry sky and evenings around the campfire.
  
  
  L'été, nous vivons essentiellement dehors, sur un campement au cœur de la ferme. Notre famille habite dans un camping car. Pour loger nos helpers, nous proposons, selon la disponibilité, une caravane de 24 pieds, une grande tente cabine et une cabane de jardin aménagée en cabine cosy. Notre cuisine extérieure couverte est collective et partagée. Sur le campement, il y a aussi des toilettes sèches et un espace douche extérieur (possibilité d'utiliser salle de bain et machine à laver ponctuellement). Confort rudimentaire mais belle ambiance, avec ciel étoilé et soirées autour du feu de camp.

  What else ...

  We are located in Sacré-Coeur, on the Cote-Nord of Quebec. The town of Tadoussac, 30km away, is very easily accessible and is vibrant and animated in the summer, with restaurants, concerts, etc. In the summer, whales are present in the St. Lawrence, and it is possible to observe them from the shore or on a cruise. If you like the outdoors, you will be delighted by the activities of the region: hiking, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, fat biking, horseback riding, sailboat tours, whale watching cruises, black bear watching in the forest...
  Having a car would be a big plus, but we can help out with one of our vehicles from time to time.

  Nous sommes situés à Sacré-Coeur, sur la Côte-Nord du Québec. La ville de Tadoussac, à 30km, très facilement accessible, est vibrante et animée l'été, avec des restaurants, concerts, etc. L'été, les baleines sont présentes dans le Saint Laurent, et il est possible de les observer depuis la rive ou en croisière. Si vous aimez le plein air, vous serez conquis par les activités de la région: randonnées à pied, paddle board, canoë, kayak, fat bike, balades à cheval, tour en voilier, croisières d'observation aux baleines, observation des ours noirs dans la forêt...
  Posséder une voiture serait un gros point positif, mais nous pourrons dépanner avec l'un de nos véhicules ponctuellement.
