    Description

    Cool! You found us. :D

My name is Sascha and I started in November 2022 an exciting project on Isla Bonita - La Palma.
There is a beautiful property waiting for us, which may be completely redesigned.

    What will be created there:

This will be a world of experience,
where we will collectively experience effective self-healing methods & adventures,
explore the fascinating world of permaculture & its low-tech solutions and
learn about the simple & ingenious benefits of eco-construction.

All on a totally relaxed basis:
I am a fan of WIN-WIN situations and effective method to help nature and ourselves that are either proven by science, historically or by myself.
There is no black and white thinking here and no extreme living. I live close to nature and I like projects that move things.

A few facts about the current situation:
    Location:
    - Almost in the middle but on the west side (sunny side)
    - at about 800m above sea level
    - with 13.000sqm area
    Tree population:
    - 2 handfuls of pine trees, 12 olive trees, 13 fig tree, 4 walnut, 2 oranges & 2 nispel trees.
-a water connection with 4000l Water Tanks, a very basic shower and a throne-compost-toilet :D

    View:
From the property you look at a rural region of La Palma, you can see the Atlantic Ocean and pine forest covered mountain ranges.

    Thats it :-)

  • Help

    Help

You want to be part of it from the beginning and help us with the start of the project?
I need support by creating the first basic structure.

In the (...) brackets you can see where you can contribute your experience.
    The first tasks will be:

-set up a 7000W PV system (electrical installation)
-Landscaping: use an A-frame to capture contour lines and draw swales (gardening/landscaping)
-Build first beds & plant trees (gardening, like permaculture experience).
-Build compost toilets (wood & stone construction)
-build outdoor kitchen (wood & water construction)
    -lay pipes (water installation)
-create shade, chill and recreation areas (wood & stone construction)

    after that comes:
    - Yurt building
    - mud house construction
    - Hot/Ice Tub construction
    - Sauna construction

Support which is also really welcome:
    -Kitchen help
    -Art work

We strive to be autonomous in many ways.
energy self-sufficient - island community food self-sufficient and more :)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

For the first time in tents and a quit nice caravan. Also you can come with your own motorhomes/ vans/ cars

The food supply will be arranged individually. It depends on how much work you wanna do. In the standard case of helping 4-5 hours, 4-5 days a week, the food and accommodation is of course included.

We will cook two times a day together. I prefer a plant-based diet, but also like to eat good cheese from time to time. Meat and milk I have in principle not in my kitchen.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your free time there are many different things to experience.
The entire island is a UNESCO biosphere reserve and truly a monster of contrasts.

There are over 1000km of hiking trails at different altitudes and climates waiting for you. You can go climbing, biking, surfing & diving. Visit permaculture projects, participate in herbal walks, collecting mushrooms or go to one of the many traditional festivals on the island (around every 2 weeks there is a nice street festival). You can explore one of the newest volcanic craters and land on the planet. As much suffering as the eruption has caused, without it the beautiful Canary Islands would not exist. A curse and a blessing at the same time.

    Enjoy!
