I am a stay at home mum with 3 children. My husband Alan works in Cork city as a psychologist. We have 2 boys aged 8 and 2 named Hallam and George and a girl aged 5 called Annie. We have a busy household combined with looking after our three young children, we are also a host family for language students who come to Bandon to learn English. So it's a busy house usually with lots of young people.

Help around the house
You will be in a busy family home and have the opportunity for English immersion.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We would like volunteers to help with running a busy house and childcare. Primarily I need help around the family home. Living in a big house with so many people, there is always a lot of cleaning and general housework. Somebody who enjoys the company of young children would be important.
We live in a 5 bedroom town house. Volunteers will have their our room with a double bed. Our home is typically pretty busy with language students who come to Bandon to learn English. These students usually come from Italy, Spain and France (occasionally Germany too) and are usually aged between 19 and 26.
Bandon is known as the gateway to West Cork. West Cork is one of the principal tourist destinations in Ireland. It has a huge range of local sights and a thriving social scene in Cork city and the nearby towns of Clonakilty and Kinsale. Google these and you will see what's on offer. We live right in the centre of Bandon and are within walking distance of pubs, shops and amenities. Bandon is a quieter, less travelled town, but with the language school based here there is always lots of people to meet, especially in the summer time. If you are outdoors type we have a have a spare bicycle you can use to see the beautiful countryside and nearby beaches.
