    Description

Hi! We're Guillaume and Anna, we live in the countryside with our two cats, Azrael and Piranesi, in the beautiful region of Skåne at the very south of Sweden. We're located at the edge of a small village, surrounded by forest, and live in an old Swedish long-house with some parts dating from the 1700. Anna is studying medicine and Guillaume is an engineer. We're both long time vegans. You will also meet our neighbor's horses, Ariel and Snema, who are grazing on our land. The region is full of castles and viking artifacts to visit. There are lakes 20 minutes away with sand beaches and pristine Baltic sea beaches are only 30 minutes away.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

While you're here you'll be part of the family and will be able to experience life as a local in the Swedish countryside. We'll be glad to share what we're good at and help you pick up new skills, especially in regards to science, gardening, electronics, 3d printing, home building and renovation. There are also lots of cultural landmarks to visit in the region and often festivities in the village!

    Help

We need some extra hands to help maintain the house and garden. Depending on when you come, you might help with chopping firewood, weeding in the garden or the field, collecting loose stones from the field, taking care of the vegetable garden, or doing tasks alongside us on small repairs and improvements around the house.

We both have plenty of DIY and technical experience and love sharing what we know to help others learn. We'll be glad to help you pick up new skills if you're interested!

Some tasks can be a bit physically demanding, and it can get warm outside in summer, so a decent level of fitness is recommended. But with the work come rewards, and you'll get to experience the traditional Swedish "fika" (a cozy break with coffee or other drinks, often with buns or cake) and get to relax in the peaceful quiet of the countryside after a day's work. We have a hammock and lots of books to lend if you want to unwind :)

If you want to experience camping in the Beautiful Swedish forest, we can lend you a tent and camping bedding.

We usually eat meals as a family when we're both at home but you don't have to follow our schedule if it doesn't suit you. Food is provided and you're free to eat whatever you want from the fridge at your leisure!
