    Description

The farm is a permaculture project with regenerative agriculture - an experiment in creating sustainable living spaces.

Barbara & Rodolfo (Rolf) do farming according to the principles of permaculture. Cereals, vegetables, aromatic and medicinal herbs, nuts and fruit are grown. An agroforestry project and the purchase of animals are also planned (chickens, donkeys, bees).

For the time from November 2026 to March 2027 we are looking for people who want to do Housesitting for a month or longer.

During the season from March to October we are involved in the processing of our produce and make jam, syrup, chutney, tinctures, ointments or herbal mixtures and use various methods to preserve our products: Fermenting, pickling, vacuuming.

We work and live in a small, relaxed, loving community, cooking, working and eating together (vegetarian/vegan). There are also retreats and opportunities on the premises or in the surrounding area. There is a beautiful gorge with bathing bays nearby, and the sea, Turin, Milan and Genoa are approx. 1 hour away, reachable with public transportation.

Your duties on the farm will depend on the needs of the garden and the seasons. You will be staying in a simple room and will share the bathroom and lounge with other Workaways. If you do housesitting you will be staying in a spacious appartment with a kitchen, bathroom and several living rooms and bedrooms (top level with heat pump and all mod cons).

We normally arrange a stay of at least 4 weeks or more. Have a look – we look forward to getting to know you!

    Best regards,
    Barbara & Rolf

During the season you will be part of our international, intergenerational community (Italy, Switzerland, others; 2-3 generations). We work and live in a small, relaxed, loving community, cooking, working and eating together (vegetarian/vegan).
You can learn a lot about permaculture and get involved in setting up projects. And there are many nice places to visit by feet, by bike or public transport. The cities Torino, Milano, Genova and Savona are reachable with public transport approx. within 1.5 hour.

  • Help

    Help

Your help is needed both with agricultural work and with tasks around the house and in the forest. A helping hand to build simple structures for the garden is also apprecitated, e.g. raised beds, shelters etc.

During wintertime it's mostly housesitting and feeding/caring for the animals (November to March). If you feel like working in the garden, too, you're welcome to do so (harvesting the winter fruits, start new seeds, cleaning etc.).

Please note: you won't be involved or helping with paying guests oder with the maintenance of spaces by paying guests (rental accomodations, events or retreats).

Hermine, Hanni, Nanni und Neira (2 years)

Our four hens are very headstrong and wondrous creatures. They live in a large enclosure with a henhouse and are looked after and fed with great love. They all stay within the fence, except for Hermine, the most headstrong and freedom-loving hen of them all. She prefers to peck at grains outside the enclosure and moves back and forth between inside and outside at her own leisure. Anyone who thought hens were stupid clearly doesn’t know our gang of ladies ;-)

    Tigra (7 months)

Tigra turned up at our place in March 26. She is an independent yet very trusting and affectionate cat with an unusual coat pattern and colouring. She lives freely on the farm and spends most of her time outdoors; she is generally very independent, but will approach people of her own accord when she feels like it. An easy-going, free-roaming cuddly cat you’ll fall in love with.
