    Description

It is a living space and a cultural third place that supports the professional integration of targeted audiences.
The main mission of our association is to provide spaces of expression for everyone. To make this possible, we create a welcoming, respectful, and trustworthy environment that encourages people to express themselves, discover who they are, develop their artistic and creative potential, and become more aware of what is happening around them.

We welcome a wide audience with the aim of promoting diversity, social cohesion, and intergenerational connections, particularly through the sharing of experiences. We especially encourage young people to take an active role in organising activities. Young participants in our workshops can be both contributors and/or beneficiaries.

The association organises social and cultural activities for the entire population of Guadeloupe. These activities are open to both adults and children in order to promote social cohesion and diversity at every level.

Our workshops are structured around three main areas:

Playful, creative, and artistic activities, through parent-child workshops such as sewing, painting, drawing, etc.

Promoting health and well-being, with introductions to yoga, meditation, and similar practices.

Informational and educational sessions, such as meetings on how to manage a personal budget, choose a health insurance plan, and workshops to learn foreign languages.

These activities are led by professionals or skilled individuals who share their knowledge and expertise. Each facilitator adapts their teaching style to ensure communication is accessible to all, starting from an early age, with a particular focus on youth.

Each initiative is designed to encourage intergenerational transmission, by valuing historical and cultural heritage, as well as the values and know-how unique to our region.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We deeply believe in human and cultural exchange. By welcoming Workawayers, we offer much more than just a volunteer opportunity — it's a true life experience, filled with sharing and mutual discovery.

1/A full immersion into Creole culture

Workawayers will have the chance to be fully immersed in Creole culture. Through our artistic and cultural workshops, Creole language classes, shared meals, daily interactions, and our way of life, they will discover the richness of our heritage, traditions, local cuisine, music, and our unique way of living together.
We communicate in Creole or French, depending on each person's preferences and language level, to encourage genuine linguistic and cultural immersion.

    2/ Free and active participation

Workawayers can take part free of charge in all our workshops: sewing, painting, yoga, meditation, budget management, and more. They are welcome to get involved in the organization, animation, or simply enjoy the activities as participants. It’s a great way to develop skills, boost creativity, and connect with our local community.

3/ Warm welcome and family-like atmosphere

We place human connection at the heart of our project. Each Workawayer is welcomed as a member of our team — even like family. We enjoy warm moments together: cooking, sharing stories, and learning from each other.
Meals and accommodation are fully covered, and we strive to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment. The Workawayer will stay in a private apartment within our family residence, allowing both comfort and close connection.

4/What we share — and what we learn

We love sharing our culture, artistic and craft skills, values of solidarity, and our commitment to social cohesion. In return, we are always eager to learn from our visitors — their languages, cultures, talents, and unique perspectives on the world.
Every exchange is a chance to grow, open up, and build bridges between cultures.

    Accommodation

Studio with a single bed, 1 sofa bed kitchen area equipped with fridge, microwave, washing machine.

To support the food needs of our Workawayers, a weekly budget of €30 is allocated to each person. This amount allows them to buy the necessary ingredients to cook independently, with access to a fully equipped kitchen.
As part of the agricultural missions, Workawayers also have access to the garden's harvest — including fruits, vegetables, and aromatic herbs — which helps complement their meals with fresh, local, and seasonal products.

We also organize regular shared meals, warm moments where we gather around Creole cuisine and each other's culinary specialties. It’s a great opportunity to bond and experience a true cultural exchange.
