Are you looking for an exchange in Korea? We offer free accommodation and food in exchange for simply having conversation with our members!
Our cafe is a warm and friendly place where you can meet lots of different people from all over the world, share amazing experiences together and make lifelong friends. If you want to learn all about Korean culture, there really is no better place to be! We aim to give our volunteers an unforgettable experience here in Korea.
Volunteers work four hours a day, five times a week. So volunteers work a total of 20 hours a week.
The main goal of our cafe is to provide a place where Koreans can come and practice English with native/fluent speakers. We want to provide them with a stress free environment where they free to express their feelings and don’t have to worry about making mistakes. The atmosphere is very relaxed and is more like a café/pub rather than a school. The desired end result is to connect Koreans with long lasting foreign friends and eliminate their fear of making mistakes, speaking with foreigners and overall become a more confident English speaker!
Daegu is located really central in Korea which can give you plenty of chances to do different things.
We are located in central Daegu.
First of all, it gives you great access to all the other main cities in Korea.
Take for instance, it would only take you like an hour and a half by train to Seoul.
If you would travel to Busan, just an hour of ride by train would be just enough.
The area is very active and crammed full of fun things to do. Some of the stuff you can do includes: many hikes of the beautiful surrounding mountain, visit E-World amusement park and clime the 83 tower (especially great during cherry blossom season), sample all sort of traditional Korean food at one of the many markets, view traditional Korean houses at the Hanok village and of course, like any great city, there's no shortage of shopping ventures to be enjoyed. All year round there are many festivals you can attend such as the Colour Festival (yes that’s exists). And for those who enjoy spending the weekends partying, You can head over to Foreigner Street for an experience more similar to your home country or simply drink amongst the locals at one the traditional alcohol houses situated all over the city. There is something for everyone here in Daegu and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
As we are located in the central city, it is quite easy to travel to any places and the subway station is only a 5 minute walk from our café and accommodation. The city also has great links out of the city, so if you feel like exploring the surrounding mountains or heading to another city on one of your days off it’s absolutely no problem at all. Those are just some suggestions and we’re sure that you’ll come across all sorts of exciting activities that you’ll wish to take part in.

We have a hostel style accommodation which is just 5 minutes away from the cafe on foot. A bed is provided for each volunteer and the dorm has a bathroom and the kitchen and those are all shared.
We try to balance genders into the dorm but sometimes when we have more male or female volunteers it is kind of difficult to do so.
Each volunteer is assigned to one part of the house to clean each week. It is up to the community of the house to keep it clean and tidy. At least 2 to at most 8 of you will share one room together.
Free WiFi, laundry machine, cooking utensils, bowls and dishes, fridge, hair dryer, etc. Basic foods (rice, bread, ramen, salt, sugar, soy sauce, cooking oil) and laundry detergent.
when you're off or after your duty time, you could go around and take a day trip. Of course there are a lot of things you can try to do to experience our culture deeply. Out of the city, Daegu, there are a lot of good places you should travel to. It might be very nice to travel there with Korean friends who you will meet at our cafe in the near future.
