Description
I am Robin. I work as an engineer onboard one of the action vessels from Greenpeace. Together with my partner Ellen I have a little farm in the middle of France which we are converting to an environmentally friendly place based on permaculture concepts. The idea behind it is to create a place were people can stay and enjoy nature and eat from the land.
Types of help and learning opportunities
Help with Eco ProjectsGardeningDIY and building projectsCultural exchange and learning opportunities
Apart from spending some time in the country side in France you will be together with a dutch person who is a professional sailor with a lot of skills if it comes to engineering. I have a lot of experience with building, engineering and more and more with permaculture. Lots of things to learn something from but we would also like to learn from you.
Help
For our little farm in France, which we would like to convert to a sustainable farm based on permaculture principles, we are looking for enthusiastic people who would like to help out and learn about permaculture. For that we need people who like their hands in the dirt, and like us, to learn how to work together with nature. The work we need help with is mostly helping out with the garden, creating a foodforest. Also small constructing tasks and helping out with building the place (the house and the barn) is one of the things were we could use some help.

I would like to learn more french and I am willing to teach englishAccommodation
What we offer is a caravan, a private place with the ability to cook. A compost toilet and a decent shower and washing facility in our house. We will also offer food.
What else ...
The place we live in is very rural. If traveling by your own car there are lots of places to go to. There are the vulcanos of the puy de dome, the mountains of the cantal and lake the vassiviere all within an hour drive. There are the lovely small towns of felletin and aubusson within 15 km. For travelers without their own transport hiking in the area would be the best to offer but arrangements can be made.
