Description
We are a Hostel on the beautiful Imbassai beach. We are located on the north coast of Bahia, very close to Praia do Forte. We love receiving new volunteers and need help in various activities here.

As we are a hostel, we are always getting people from all over the world. I am an Argentine living for a long time in Bahia. We are always in search of new friendships and culture exchange.
Help
We would love to host some packers who could help us with:
- Maintenance: We need someone who can fix small damages and improve the infrastructure of our hostel
- Handyman: build new things!
- Arts: you can paint and decorate our hostel and even make sculptures if you like!
- Help in the reception of the guests.
- Some help in the laundry and the cleaning of the rooms.
You don't have to know how to do everything in order to apply. Just let us know your skills and we'll find a place for you

- The accommodation for volunteers is a room with 6 beds and a private bathroom.-
- We provide volunteers the same breakfast as the guests.
- Lunch and dinner is on your own, but we have a full kitchen so you can use and dine.

we are close to many beaches of the north coast of Bahia, some of them can be made walking and others taking a bus that passes every 20 minutes. Imbassaí is a very quiet beach with a warm energy and good waves for surfing. The Imbassaí River can also be used for various water activities.

I volunteered at the Eco Hostel for a week, and it was a delight. I wanted to extend my gratitude to Roberto, all the workers and volunteers that made me feel welcome. If you like to keep busy, there is plenty to get involved with. From yoga, cooking, and construction to marketing, photography, and crafts. I really enjoyed the routine I built in Imbassai, going to the beach and sweet-water river in the mornings, having a big communal breakfast cooked by the loveliest Eliane with the staff and getting your jobs done at your own pace. I would say it is helpful to know a little Portuguese and/or Spanish before getting there because there are not many English-speakers about, but everyone is very patient.

Fui voluntaria en el Eco Hostel durante una semana y fue un placer. Quería extender mi gratitud a Roberto, a todos los trabajadores y voluntarios que me hicieron sentir bienvenido. Si le gusta mantenerse ocupado, hay mucho en qué involucrarse. Desde yoga, cocina y construcción hasta marketing, fotografía y artesanía. Roberto es excelente para ubicarte donde te sentirás más a gusto con tus habilidades e intereses. Realmente disfruté la rutina que construí en Imbassai, yendo a la playa y al río por las mañanas, tomando un gran desayuno juntos preparado por la encantadora Eliane y haciendo tu trabajo a tu propio ritmo. Yo diría que es útil saber un poco de portugués y/o español antes de llegar porque no hay mucha gente que hable ingles, pero todos son muy pacientes.

Fui voluntária no Eco Hostel por uma semana e foi realmente um prazer. Queria estender a minha gratidão ao Roberto, a todos os trabalhadores e voluntários que me fizeram sentir bem-vindo. Se você gosta de se manter ocupado, há muito com o que se envolver. Desde yoga, culinária e construção até marketing, fotografia e artesanato. Roberto é excelente em colocá-lo onde você se sentirá mais confortável com suas habilidades e interesses. Gostei muito da rotina que construí em Imbassai, ir à praia e ao rio pela manhã, tomar um ótimo café da manhã preparado pela adorável Eliane todos juntos e fazer o trabalho no seu próprio ritmo. Eu diria que é útil saber um pouco de português e/ou espanhol antes de chegar porque não há muita gente que fale inglês, mas todos são muito pacientes.

Hay muchas tareas que se pueden hacer como… read more voluntario, y en mi caso fue hacer arreglos de las instalaciones y ayudar en la cocina para hacer el desayuno, disfrutando de la compañía de Eli, Patri, y Emilio. Los turnos suelen ser cuatro o cinco horas a la mañana, cinco o seis dias a la semana. El Hostel recibe a muchas personas de Brasil y varias de otros lugares, tanto familias como gente que viaja por su cuenta. Las playas, el rio, y el pueblo son lugares relajados y pintorescos, ideales para descansar. Espero tener la chance de volver pronto!

I stayed at the Hostel for almost three weeks. It was my first volunteering experience in Bahía, and I was so happy to find out that people there were really friendly and relaxed. Thanks to Roberto and the workers of the hostel I learned a lot about the language and the culture, and made some great friends. There is a variety of tasks to be done as a volunteer, so I did a bit of maintenance and painting, but mostly stayed in the kitchen helping with preparing breakfast and making friends with Eli, Patri, and Emilio, as well as the other volunteers. I worked four or five hours, five or six days per week. The hostel/inn receives lots of Brazilian people and some international guests as well. The beach and the river are beautiful and peaceful places, and the town has a family friendly vibe. I hope to come back soon!

Meu primeiro voluntariado. Tive a sorte de encontrar um ambiente acolhedor onde tanto o Roberto quanto as pessoas que lá trabalham são muito atenciosos e amigavels. Em pouco menos de três semanas aprendi muito sobre a cultura e o idioma, além de passar quase todas as tardes na praia ou no rio. São muitas as coisas que podem ser realizadas como voluntário, e no meu caso foi conçertar instalações e ajudar na cozinha a preparar o café da manhã, aproveitando a companhia de Eli, Patri e Emilio. Os turnos são geralmente de quatro ou cinco horas pela manhã, cinco ou seis dias por semana. O Hostel recebe muitas pessoas do Brasil e algumas de outros lugares, tanto famílias quanto pessoas viajando sozinhas. As praias, o rio e a vila são locais descontraídos e pitorescos, ideais para descansar. Espero ter a oportunidade de voltar em breve!

I stayed in this hostel for 10 days almost. It´s a chilled hostel and I honeslty love that. The hostel is really in the middle of the trees, surronded by nature and this is priceless. Is super close to the beach, 15min walking probably and the beach has an amazing river beside the ocean. Imbassai is a small paradise.
