    Who We Are

We are a Community Based Organization registered in Kenya,
Based in Trans-Nzoia County- Kitale, located in Cherangany Constituency.
Our aim is to empower adolescent girls in our Community and to provide safe and supportive spaces for girls to discuss their problems and learn from their peers.
We are politically and religiously independent. It has an advisory board that monitors its operations.
Our endeavor is to inspire and empower adolescent girls to develop knowledge, skills and their status by increasingly exposing them to life skills, sexual reproductive health and training on how to curb gender based violence and to take hold of livelihood opportunities.

  • Help

We believe everyone can learn from one another. That is why we welcome volunteers because it is a chance for us and for the volunteer to learn and broaden the horizon. We have hosted 14 volunteers over the past 3 years from the US, Australia and Germany.

As a volunteer you would have multiple opportunities to support our project. Some of the main tasks would be:

    Distribution of sanitary pads

Supporting workshops and organization of events for the girls

But we’re always open to include your interests and talents into our schedule, so let us know what you’d like to do!

  • Accommodation

We offer family accommodation, you will be hosted by a local family and spend your time immersed in the community.

Volunteers will share most facilities with the host family, providing a genuine insight into everyday Kenyan life. They will have their own fully furnished room with a bed, bedding, mosquito net, reading table and reading chair.

We have a weekly contribution of $20 USD for your upkeep to assist with living costs, (for three meals a day, drinking water and laundry) this is necessary due to limited cash flow as a community based organization.
We apologize and hope it shall not deter you from engaging with us.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Good to know before you come to Kenya
If you’re wondering what you could bring as a souvenir or for the children, the following items would be much appreciated:

    Digital cameras

School supplies (like pencils, ball pens, notebooks)

    Sewing materials (like threads, needles)

Also, this little checklist might help:

Get appropriate vaccination (e. g. yellow fever, especially if you want to travel to other African countries)

Apply for your visa online (recommended) but it can also be obtained at the airport in Nairobi

Check with the Kenyan immigration office regarding further immigration requirements

Bring clothes for cold weather but also sunscreen
