I spend 3 weeks in Dutch Hill in July. It was my first experience of being a volunteer and I liked it!
Carla (Dutch Hill's owner and hostess) is very helpful. Both she and her dother Esmee were so friendly to me and tried to make my staying in camping as pleasant as it could be. They helped me with information, food, cooking, lift to bus stop

Dutch Hill is situated in a very beautiful and quite place. It's a suitable place for you if you'd like to stay away from big city's lights and noise. You can enjoy peaceful views from morning till night. However it's only about 2 km to bus stop in the village Zalacsany, so you can take a bus to any small city located nearby or even to Budapest. Travelling by bus is easy and quite chip there. And it was possible to get a lift to bus stop or back to camping.
There are 3 small shops in the village, so you can buy some bread, dairy productes and so on, I used to eat lots of vegetables and fruites, but they don't have good in the village. Big Lidl and Spar are about 15 km from Zalacsany and Carla always asked me if I needed something from bigger store, so It wasn't a problem at all :)
I made cleaning (toaletts and showers), helped with breakfast, guests (most of them speak Dutch) and in some more things. Place is not so large and it is clean, so worked about 3-5 hours a day depended of a day program and it didn't feel bad :) Actually, I enjoyed staying outdoors, because if is warm there (about 30-33 C). I did my duties in the Morning and early afternoon, so I usually had free time after 1 p.m.
For me it was a successful experiences and I'd like to thank Carla and Esmee for all once more time :)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
