    Description

We are 4 friends setting up a food forest/permaculture garden together. Our farm is located within 30 minutes of Norway's most visited scenic hike, "The Pulpit Rock". We are also 10 minutes away from Norway's oldest known Bronze age settlement, the area is full of Norse history. With spectacular views overlooking the Lysefjord and the Høgsfjord, we are very proud to welcome just you, to our wonderful farm.
We hope to next year have the permaculture garden ready by next year, and that it will attract members enough to open a Community Supported Agriculture project. We need to provide several structures for this, among them a sitting area and an outdoor kitchen on the farm. This will also be a place to sit and enjoy our splendid views for our local community as there is a very popular public footpath through the farm. We want to create additional footpaths and resting areas for the local community to stop and rest at the farm. We are also inviting in challenged youth to rest here and recover.
We feel safe to say we think our farm will provide a unique and extraordinary workaway experience. The farm is 3 minutes walk from the fjord with swimming possibility, and boating. Forsand is located 50 minutes from Stavanger, and 1 hour from the airport (we would be happy to pick you up).

here you will learn Norse history, you will get to hike some of Norway's most spectacular trails, and you will have the opportunity to learn at the farm about permaculture, food forests, and regenerative farming. John is a qigong master, Hilde is a wild edibles and plant based course facilitator, Mette is a forest gardener, and Paul Morten loves to fix things around the farm. We are very ECO savvy and we love trees.

-The out door kitchen is located in one of the old buildings on the farm (Eldhus). We would like to restore it to it's former glory, and give it a touch of Viking style kitchen. It has water, but no electricity. It needs kitchen bench and shelves, new windows and possibly roof. It is 5x3m approximately, and has a cement floor. Some painting will also be needed.
-An old style outdoor toilet (incinerator toilet)
-Foundation for our farm terrace and outdoor eating area
    -Foundation for a bell tent
-Simple repairs on the farm buildings

    What else ...

Forsand is an amazing area with many things to offer, in fact it is very close to Norway's most visited tourist attraction "The Pulpit Rock". There are many scenic hikes, where you can enjoy stunning views, rivers, lakes, fjords, and waterfalls etc. Cycling is very popular, and water sports, extreme sports, swimming and beach activities. We are walking the trails of the Vikings, and this is the area where Norse history, legends, and myths originated. Enjoy Landa Park museum, Røssdalen, Kjerag, Prekestolen Base camp, Fjord cruises, Lysebotn, Byrkjedal, Gloppedalsuren, Sirdal, Suleskar, and Setesdal. The Tourist Trekking association have a net of trails in the mountains that takes you from cabin to cabin (see Turistforeningen).
Stavanger with many restaurants, and night life is less then 1 hour by car/bus (daily). From Stavanger it is only an additional 15 minutes and you will be at one of the many sandy beaches of the region. Bore beach is famous among surfers.
