Description
We are a family of four from Akureyri, Iceland. Álfheiður who is a 27 years old nurse, Kristján who is a 28 year old police officer and our two daughters, Andrea who is 10 and Mæja who is 4. We have a dog named Atlas and 5 horses.

You would get to experience everyday life for an Icelandic family. We live very close to nature and our town is full of culture and history. You would have an oppurtunity to be around the icelandic horse and perhaps get to ride one or two of them (depending on experience with horses). You would have the oppurtunity to travel around Iceland and experience it´s nature and culture.

Help
Parents work shifts that sometimes overlap, we would need childcare during that time as well as help around the house.

You would be "assigned" our guest room in our apartment as your private space. It has a single bed, two windows, closet, desk and a bookshelf. You will be provided with food as a part of our family´s meals and welcome to eat with us at mealtimes.

Our town, Akureyri is full of culture, nature and history. Busfare is free an if you have a driving licence you will be provided with a car when it´s avalable. There are a lot of great places to see within an hour drive from Akureyri such as lake Mývatn and the geothermal area around it, including the naturebaths (similar to the blue lagoon).
