Description
Hello!
We are a small family living on an old farm and former vineyard, surrounded by nature. Our family is Nuno (from Portugal), Lilli (from Austria) and our 14-month-old baby. We enjoy sharing our daily life with volunteers who are curious, open-minded and happy to live simply and close to the land.
Our project is about slowly regenerating an old farm, reforesting the land with native trees and moving towards an auto sustainable lifestyle. We grow food, preserve it, learn about herbs and natural medicine, and try to relearn ancient knowledge that respects nature and natural rhythms. This place is also becoming a safe and joyful playground for our child.
Help welcome:
Tasks vary depending on the season, weather and your skills, and may include:
• Walking and feeding our dogs and cat
• Helping in the vegetable garden
• Planting trees and reforesting the land
• Cleaning and maintaining the property
• Making firewood
Because we are a young family with limited time, we especially appreciate volunteers who already have some experience working on the land or in a vegetable garden and who feel confident taking initiative with tasks. This helps the days flow more smoothly for everyone, while still leaving room to learn and exchange knowledge together.
Accommodation
Volunteers stay in a house with:
• own room
• own Bathroom
• own Kitchen and dining area
Life here is calm, shared and close to nature, with simple meals and time to connect.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
10 minutes by car to the next village, Arcos de Valdevez. Every first Saturday in the month there is a market happening with our local alternative community. People are selling home made food, produce and crafts. It's a good opportunity to meet like minded people. Our 4ha property invites for exploration and the river is close by to enjoy too. You can also do beautiful walks around Arcos de Valdevez. You have an eco via along the Vez river that is very beautiful to walk. National park Gerês is not far either where you can enjoy natural springs and rivers in your free time.
