  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange goes hand in hand with community service. Volunteers live and work with us, experiencing daily life while supporting football, education, women empowerment, and environmental projects. We share Kenyan traditions through food, music, language, and community activities, while also learning from the cultures and skills Workawayers bring. Outside of volunteering, you can explore stunning sites like the Taita Hills, Karura Forest in Nairobi, and nearby national parks or safaris at your own cost. This mix of service, culture, and adventure creates friendships, learning, and memories that last a lifetime.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

During their free time, Workawayers can explore local attractions such as the scenic Taita Hills, Karura Forest in Nairobi, and nearby national parks and safaris (at their own cost). We are happy to guide you on transport options whether by matatus (local minibuses), boda bodas (motorbike taxis), or private taxis so you can get around easily and safely.

Life for us is community centered and simple, with a focus on respect, teamwork, and shared responsibility. We ask volunteers to embrace our way of life, be open-minded, and respect local customs and traditions. Cleanliness, kindness, and flexibility go a long way in making the experience enjoyable for everyone.
