  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We are in the Sierra de Gata, north of Cáceres. Close to Portugal and Salamanca, and 8 km from Moraleja, which is a small city with all services. We are located on the edge of the reservoir, a hibernation center for more than 8,000 cranes that come to visit us every year. From here, we do annual censuses, and tours to observe them at their traditional feeders and roosts. We also participate in environmental education projects for children. The large number of nationalities and origins from the peninsula and the islands of people who have chosen the Sierra de Gata to live is striking. Awakened, curious people, interested in enjoying another way of life surrounded by authentic nature. Of the most varied activities that make the cultural and social life of this enclave bustle every day.
  
  
  Estamos en la Sierra de Gata, norte de Cáceres. Cerquita de Portugal y de Salamanca, y a 8 kms de Moraleja, que es una pequeña ciudad con todos los servicios. Nos ubicamos a la orilla del pantano, centro de hibernada de más de 8.000 grullas que vienen cada año a visitarnos. Desde aquí, hacemos censos anuales, y recorridos para observarlas en sus comederos y dormideros tradicionales. También participamos en proyectos de educación ambiental para niños. Es llamativo el gran número de nacionalidades y procedencias de la península y las islas de gente que ha elegido la Sierra de Gata para vivir. Gente despierta, curiosa, con interés en disfrutar de otra forma de vida rodeados de una naturaleza auténtica. De actividades de lo más variopinto que hacen que la vida cultural y social de este enclave bulla cada día.

  Accommodation

  The place that welcomes us is an old campsite that continues to maintain the necessary infrastructure to offer well-being to the community that stays here. If you have a van, we offer plots with water and electricity, in addition to showers, bathrooms, kitchen, living room, beautiful and bright gardens.
  And if you come without a van, we have a small hostel for you with 15 beds.
  I offer breakfast and lunch. We shared dinner like good brothers
  
  
  El lugar que nos acoge es un antiguo camping que sigue manteniendo las infraestructuras necesarias para ofrecer un bienestar a la comunidad que aquí nos alojamos. Si dispones de furgo, ofrecemos parcelas dotadas de agua y luz, a mayores de las duchas, baños, cocina, salón, preciosos y luminosos jardines.
  Y si vienes sin furgo, tenemos para tí un pequeño albergue dotado con 15 camas.
  Ofrecemos desayuno y comida. La cena la compartimos como buenos hermanos

  The multiple cultural, musical, and gastronomic activities that are offered daily throughout the Sierra, and the quiet walks through well-preserved environments, its towns, its people, do not allow boredom. A system has been created through WhatsApp and Telegram groups (Gatacar), which is very active and allows mobility between nearby population centers and the possibility of cheap or free trips to Madrid, Cáceres, Salamanca... We also have some how many bicycles for your use
  
  
  Las múltiples actividades culturales, musicales, gastronómicas que a diario se ofrecen por toda la Sierra, y los paseos tranquilos por entornos bien conservados, sus pueblos, sus gentes, no permiten el aburrimiento. Hay creado un sistema a través de grupos de Whattsapp y Telegram (Gatacar), muy activo y que permite la movilidad entre los núcleos de población cercanos y la posibilidad de viajes baratos o gratis a Madrid, Cáceres, Salamanca... Disponemos también de unas cuantas bicicletas para vuestro uso
