    Description

Hello, we are Nacho and Marina, we live since September 2021 in Meyrargues, a typical Provence village at 15min from Aix-en-Provence. We are both Spanish engineers, but Marina is also an artist and Nacho plays the guitar. We were living before in Milano, and before that we spent some years in South Africa, some in The Netherlands, and some in other countries. Our house is a town house in the old centre of the village, just next to the church. The house has 3 levels, a cellar, a garage, and a semi-covered terrace on top of the garage. There is a lot of places to visit around, which are easily accessible by bus. Near the house starts the Saint Victoire park, which is a hilly area of Mediterranean forest perfect for hiking. We speak Spanish, English, Italian, and French (Nacho only a bit for the moment) and we have 2 cats.

Here don't expect to learn French as it is not our mother tongue, sorry. But you can practice your Spanish and also learn some nice recipes (we both love cooking). If you are an art lover you can use Marina's studio and she can teach you some basics. She has everything needed for ceramics, including a ceramic wheel and a small pottery kiln, and she also does mixed-media painting. You can also practice road bicycle with Nacho or learn some Spanish songs.

Our house is an old one and there is plenty of work to do! The activities range from very simple DIY stuff to more complex electricity, masonry or plumber work. We have to sand some wooden doors, paint doors and wooden shutters, render and whitewash the wall of the cellar and the garage, extend the electrical installation to the garage, create some shelves and wooden planters... So we will be looking for people that has some experience/passion for that kind of manual work to help us some hours a day. Other option would be supporting administrative and business development tasks for Marina's entrepreneurial activities e.g. updating the web page, posting on social media, finding calls for artists and preparing dossiers, organizing invoices...

    Accommodation

The room is 3mx5m including an ensuite sink and bath. The WC is separated (typical French) but in the same level. There is a 2x 80cm x 2m trundle bed from Ikea that can be attached together to make a double bed. The room has a window from which you can see the village, a portion of forest and the mountains. We provide all linen, towels, shop, etc. For lunch we cook different type of salads to bring to work and we can make for you too, otherwise you can cook whatever you like by yourself. For dinner and during week-ends we cook different dishes of Spanish and international cuisine, but we normally don't eat meat. No problem to make vegan and/or allergy food in case you need. You can use any of the common areas of the house.

In terms of expectations we just look for friendly and kind people that respects others. We like peaceful spaces, we love nature, music, arts and cooking. In your room you are free to keep the disorder you want, but in the common areas we expect that you maintain things organized and clean. We clean the house ourselves during week-ends so we expect that you do your portion whenever you like. The cats dont go outside so you will have to pay some attention with some windows and doors. We also expect that you have your own travel/medical insurance.
