    Description

We have a beautiful half acre property in Pointe de Bute, New Brunswick. We live in a rural area but it’s centrally located in the Maritimes of Canada. 30 minutes to PEI, and very close to the Nova Scotia border, 2 hours to Halifax. The closest towns are Amherst, NS and Sackville, NB, both less than 15 minutes by car. It’s a century home with a large flower garden that needs lots of maintenance in the Spring and Summer. We are primarily looking for outdoor help in the yard with yard and garden maintenance, as well as some light to moderate landscaping.

Tasks include, mowing lawn (ride on and hand mower), edge trimming, tree pruning, weeding , mulching, planting in garden, stacking firewood (we have lots of firewood) and some simple outdoor maintenance tasks such as painting and assisting with small building and repair projects. Someone with a more skilled background could do more for sure.

Future projects could include building a vegetable garden, a deck, and a gravel path in the back yard.

We have a large guest room on the first floor with a bathroom nearby. Two people could comfortably stay there. We also have a large, country kitchen and butler’s pantry so lots of room for creativity in the kitchen. The whole house oozes charm with lots of original features for a relaxing stay in the country.

We have two young kids (4 and 6) who can be pretty rambunctious and loud so enjoying the presence of young ones is a must. Occassionally, with the right people, we may ask just to be home during the evening so that we can go out. . . although this is not required if it's outside of anyone's comfort levels.

***Update*** Because of comfort levels with children, we will typically not accept men on their own (or pairs). We have had good experiences with couples, small young families, and single or paired females.

One of the challenges of the area is a lack of transportation services in and out of town. Someone legally able to drive could potentially use our car occasionally, although this is not a guarantee. We make frequent trips into nearby towns and occassional trips to Moncton and even less frequently to other areas in the Maritimes. We do have a van so a motivated person can definitely see a lot of the surrounding area.

We live in an incredible area that we are discovering as well- since we just moved here from the West Coast. Near the Bay of Fundy, explore marshes and boral tides. Closest city is Moncton,
