  • Description

    Description

This is a Mixed Secondary school and a primary sch is based in Suba District.
We have Permaculture and organic farming incorporated into a school curriculum through a school club. The school has a demonstration farm growing vegetables, fruit trees and also a tree Nursery. We hold talks about Permaculture and its subtopics as well as demonstrate solutions for the household and small-scale levels. The students themselves disseminate the knowledge with their peers and parents when they go back home. The school is for both boys and girls of ages 11 – 18 years. The school is the first of its kind in Kenya and will develop over years to be economically self- sustainable.

The local community is passionate about the potential to develop sustainably and with existing resources, and have been working towards increasing biodiversity by conserving and promoting a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora on the farm.

We also welcome volunteers who are interested in teaching subjects like English, Maths, Sciences (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and Arts.
Alongside these we also have other programs together with the local community such as HIV/AIDS education, Non Violence communication, Water and sanitation, girl child, women empowerment etc
