Description
Hi, we are Lidia and Lorenzo, and together with Dante, our 4-year-old son, and Bingo, our sweet and affectionate Australian Shepherd, we live in the hills around Como.
We’re looking to meet someone who can help us take care of Dante during the summer (and possibly beyond), especially when both of us are busy with work.Types of help and learning opportunities

We love sharing our daily life with Workawayers and creating a space where they can feel part of the family. Our home is located in the peaceful hills near Como, perfect for nature lovers and those who enjoy a slower, outdoorsy lifestyle. We often go for walks in the woods, ride bikes, or enjoy long chats over good Italian food. You’ll have the chance to meet our friends and neighbors, and participate in community events, especially during summer.
As a family, we’re happy to share our knowledge of Italian culture, language, and cuisine (and if you like, you can even learn how to make fresh pasta!). We’re both passionate about travel, cycling, and the outdoors, and we’re always open to learning about other cultures, habits, and perspectives. Hosting Workawayers allows us—and our 4-year-old son Dante—to grow up with a sense of curiosity, respect, and connection to the world beyond our little hill.Au Pair Help

Help
So, what do we mean by helping us with Dante?
Dante is four years old, meaning he must be taken to school every morning around 8:30–9:00 AM and picked up in the afternoon around 4:30–5:00 PM.
Once home, he usually has a snack and needs to be entertained—preferably without screens, as we strongly encourage outdoor play. We have a large garden and many outdoor activities available, including bikes of all kinds, even e-bikes, which are perfect for exploring the surrounding woods.
During the day, while Dante is at school, you would have a good amount of free time, as long as a few basic household tasks are taken care of. These might include loading the dishwasher, doing a load of laundry, and helping keep the home tidy, especially Dante’s room. We’re not looking for deep cleaning, but a bit of help with light housekeeping would be truly appreciated.
Another part of the daily routine would be taking Bingo out for a walk, especially in the morning or early afternoon, while the house is quiet.
We’re a warm and active family, and we’d love to welcome someone responsible, positive, and who enjoys spending time outdoors and with children.Languages
Languages spoken
English: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
One of the things we value most about hosting Workawayers is the opportunity for natural language exchange. We speak Italian at home, and we’re happy to help you practice and improve your Italian through daily conversation, simple routines with our son Dante, or even by reading stories together. At the same time, we’re always curious to learn and practice other languages—especially English or French—and we’d love for Dante to be exposed to different sounds and expressions from an early age. Whether it’s over coffee in the morning or during a walk with our dog Bingo, we see language as a bridge between cultures, and we truly enjoy that mutual learning experience.Accommodation
You’ll stay in a private room equipped with a comfortable bed, a desk, two armchairs, and a French door that opens onto a small terrace—perfect for enjoying a quiet moment outdoors or reading in the sun. The room is bright, quiet, cozy, and features independent air conditioning for your comfort during warmer days.
The house includes two bathrooms, a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a fireplace, and a small home gym with basic equipment if you’d like to stay active.
Outside, there’s a big garden and direct access to the surrounding hills and woods. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming—we want you to feel at home, while still enjoying your own space and privacy. What else ...
During your time off, there’s plenty to explore in the area. We live in the hills near Lake Como, so there are beautiful walking and cycling routes right outside our door. If you enjoy nature, you’ll love the peaceful forest trails, scenic viewpoints, and small villages nearby. We’re about 20 minutes by car from Como city, and there are buses connecting our area to town, though we recommend being comfortable with countryside living. You’re welcome to use our bikes (including e-bikes) to get around and explore!
As for our lifestyle—we enjoy a calm, outdoorsy rhythm. We eat meals together when possible, especially dinner, and value a respectful, friendly atmosphere in the home. We appreciate open communication and flexibility, and we try to live simply and consciously, spending time outside rather than on screens.
We ask that shared spaces be kept tidy, that you treat the home as your own, and that noise in the evening be kept low out of respect for our family’s rhythm (especially with a young child). We’re always happy to share stories, culture, and good food—but also respect your privacy and downtime.A little more information
