Tara is a hard working and dedicated person.
She runs the sanctuary by herself, that means grooming, cleaning and feeding cats and dogs, in a daily basis. She also makes an amazing effort helping so many other animals to get a new and safe home all around Irland.
The time with her and the animals was full of knowledge and things to learn. We

The place is nearby the beach and also in the near to Donegal city, which is a beautiful town where to spend the day off. Tara was giving us ideas about where to go, she knows the area very well.
Thanks for the time together and for sharing your amazing project with us!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We stayed at Tara's for nearly 2 months, and everything that the other reviews said is absolutely accurate! The two of us have had a hard time even trying to figure out how to review our experience. We were with Tara for a long time and it was an incredible and life-changing experience. Tara understands her work and is completely in tune with the
… read more animals and people she works with. We learned so much and still had so much more to learn when we left. Tara is very involved in the animal rescue community so she has a lot on her plate. But despite how busy she was, she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had a good experience.
Our time with the animals was also incredible! We had to learn to work together with them, to keep them as comfortable and happy as we could, and it was equally challenging and rewarding. It's hard to explain the feeling of spending so much time with them all and gaining an understanding of each other, but it was so incredibly fulfilling. We grew to love each and every one of them.
If you love animals and you are confident you can confront the physically and emotionally challenging aspects of rescue, we cannot recommend this place enough! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Staying with Tara for 3 weeks was amazing and I will remember these days for the rest of my life. She is really devoted to animals and understands them in a way I've never seen before. She is also very caring, thoughtful and provided us everything we needed and more !

Thanks again for everything Tara, the hardest part of our stay was to say goodbye... ❤️You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Hard to find a more compassionate and caring host on this website! I had a wonderful time at Tara’s rescue and learned a lot about animal behaviour thanks to her, as she is a patient teacher and animal rights advocate. Like in any animal shelter, days in Tara’s rescue are busy, and you will need to be physically and mentally fit. She is really
… read more good at assessing people and will never make you do something you’re not cut out for, or something that would be unsafe for you or the animals. She took the time to introduce us to each dog individually and gradually so that we would know their character and personal boundaries! Last but not least, she cooks amazing food and really cares about getting to know the volunteers. Overall, she made me feel valuable, valued and safe, and I like to think I made a friend during my stay there! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We stayed 3 weeks with Tara at the animal rescue. What an experience ! It has been really intense but amazing. All the cats and dogs are lovely, and we just wish them to find their forever home soon. Tara has given us a lot of good advices to explore the area. We had nice chats with her, she is truly amazing !
The work is not really physical but
… read more there is plenty to do and you never know what is going to happen : this is the reality of working in an animal rescue. Tara is just a strength of the nature, she is alone to mind all those pets, and she is also managing all the animals in the foster homes, and trying to rescue at a distance by finding homes/transport/vet for animal in need, abused or injured. So for the workawayers who are reading this coment, you really need to be ready to see all the sides of minding animals : this is not just about petting animals, you will be dirty (dogs love especially jumping when they have been in the mud), you will see scared, traumatised and even sick animals.
But if you love them deeply, you will be happy everytime you have a walk with them, everytime you play or pet them and even more if they find a family ! Like we said, it has been a really intense experience but we don't regret it, we have loved all those moments with the animals and it was great to be able to help Tara.
Tara, thank you very much for those 3 weeks we have spent with you and the 4 legs family. It has been really a good moment, thank you for your trust. We hope you will find a good home for everybody and that you will have more people to come and help you. You are doing an amazing job, thank you for them !You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
