Description
Hola Workawayers!
We’re a community hostel located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Although we are still early in our hostel days, we are known for our creative, relaxed, and inclusive atmosphere. It is important to us that our guests and volunteers not only enjoy the very close beaches, waterfalls, and dozens of restaurants but the kind and colorful vibe of our hostel as well!
We are currently looking for volunteers with great ideas and passion for developing an environment and activities that travelers will love. Our ideal volunteer is someone who is self-motivated, is customer service oriented, and has skills to help our team and hostel learn and grow.
If you are interested in business and entrepreneurship, this is a great opportunity to see and learn the successes and challenges of a new business endeavor. You can learn/practice your Spanish and seek to understand more about local ways of living. We hope volunteers can create a warm and welcoming space for all.
Typical volunteer tasks include housekeeping, reception, laundry, general maintenance, gardening/landscaping, painting, murals, social media, photography, and website development. We also have a yoga space and are seeking yoga instructors and folks with related training such as in meditation and healing. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our guests - experience in hospitality and being bilingual is a major plus!
As we are trying to create a community where everyone feels at home, we ask that volunteers stay at least 1 month but provide preference to those that can stay longer. Volunteers are asked to work 5 days a week. Each shift is 5 hours or 6 hours including a 1 hour break (5 hours actively working). You will have 2 days off a week in a row. Days off generally stay the same week to week. We ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks.
Your perks as a volunteer include vegetarian food, shared dorm-style apartment for housing, on-site laundry, discounts on tours and opportunities to connect with people from all over the world.
If this sounds like a good fit, please tell us a bit about yourself and your skills. We look forward to hearing from you!
