    Description

We are a Dutch family with 2 kids, 2 dogs and 1 cat, living in the beautiful rolling hills of the northern Dordogne.
We work and school from home.
It will be fun to have some nice helpers around to help us with things around the house and in the huge garden, as well as someone to help the kids with their school work.

Seeking creative, motivated, respectful, skilled and willing-to-learn volunteers for anything, from painting to gardening. Any skills or motivated people are welcome.
The house needs lots of decorating, so we are open to some creative ideas.
One of the things we really would like to achieve in the garden, is to restore the greenhouse and set up a very good vegetable garden.

In exchange for 4-5 hours of help a day you will have free accommodation (own bedroom and bathroom) and all meals, you can join family outings, bonfire nights in the summer evenings, exploring the surrounding medieval towns and sites...
We have a large kitchen which is a great place for making meals together and eating them in the large dining room or in the sunshine on the terrace.

As we are dependent on our internet for our work, the wifi is very good with a back-up system as well, so a digital nomad could work from our place.

We speak English, Dutch and German very well, but our French is not great yet. We would love to practice our French if we would have a French speaker around.

Couples, friends and individuals welcome. Learn, develop and share skills. Smoking is not allowed inside the property, but outside is no issue.
Please be aware that we do not live in walking distance from villages and cities, so own transport will greatly improve your experience, as you are able to travel or go out in your free time.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We offer a cultural and language exchange, as well as learning new skills from each other.
Our house offers room and a wonderfully quiet, stress free environment that will relax you. We offer good, international meals and a family atmosphere.
No busy traffic, pollution or noise, just beautiful country side and starry nights (all villages turn off the street lights after 22.00, so you can easily see the milky way).

We always have things to do in the house, from painting walls, wallpapering, painting woodwork to general maintenance and lending a hand on renovations. If you want to practise or learn a new skill there is ample opportunity.
The maintenance of the garden is ongoing (pruning, mowing, adding creative art etc). We are also very interested in making things more environmentally friendly, so permaculture, solar energie etc.

You will be within reasonable driving distance to the bohemian city of Bordeaux, Perigieux and Angoulem, near the lovely village of Brantome and the caves. There are rocks for climbing, hills for walking/cycling/caving and rivers to kayak and canoe in and so much natural life and adventure to purely enjoy.

Very near is the lively village of Verteillac, where there is a large, monthly brocante. In the town of Riberac is a fab weekly market to visit.
