Description
Bonjour! I’m a 44-year-old Dutch woman who recently bought a charming old house by a river in a small, peaceful village in the Vosges, France. I’m looking for enthusiastic Workawayers to support me with:
General DIY & maintenance: small repairs, gardening, light renovations
Housekeeping & cooking: keeping the house tidy and preparing healthy meals (no pork and preferably little pasta)
You can either come alone (if you enjoy both DIY and cooking/household tasks) or together with another Workawayer so the roles can be divided. I can host a maximum of 2 helpers.

Help
A handy (wo)man, that can help out with moving stuff around, DIY projects, house maintenance. Things like the windows that need sanding and wallpaper that needs to be removed, plastering. Making new shutters for the windows... endless things to pick from! I can teach how to do things, as I have fixed up a few chalets before I bought this old charming house, and will be remodeling most of this house by myself. But an extra set of hands would be really great. Preferably with a little handy background.
A cook that loves healthy vegetarian meals! The occasional meat (no pork) or fish if also fine. And that can also clean the house and keep it tidy.
And if you have green hands, feel free to nurture the garden :)Languages spoken

You have your own room with a single or double bed on the second floor of a 2 story house. There is a kitchen with an electric furnace, dishwasher, electric oven and a fridge with freezer. When you stay I will pay for the evening meals (dinner) and other meals you'll cook for us.
What else ...
The house is located in the village of Monthureux-sur-Saône, right on the river Saône. From the garden you have direct access to the water, where you can swim and fish (with species such as pike, trout and perch).
The surroundings are a real paradise for hiking and cycling, with forests, rolling hills and plateaus. It’s perfect for walking, cycling, mountain biking, and even scenic motorcycle tours. In the village you’ll also find a playground and a pétanque (boules) court.
This region is known for its peace, space and nature: gentle hills, pure air, clear starry skies at night, and rich flora and fauna (including foxes, deer, wild boar and even the lynx). The nearby Darney forest (12,000 hectares) is one of the largest deciduous forests in France, home to rare orchids, mosses and many mushrooms in autumn.
There are also cultural highlights nearby, such as small museums, old bridges, springs and rock formations. Larger towns like Nancy, Vittel, Epinal and Besançon are within reach for a day trip.
In short: a natural and authentic place with plenty of opportunities to relax and explore!
