    Description

I am a retired easy-going Aussie bloke 82 living on a small property at Mooloolah Valley Queensland (State of Australia) I am open to single travellers male/female. I can only cater for one traveller at a time. You will have your own room and bathroom.

I'm not alternative but open to all aspects of the lifestyle. I can always learn something

I am within walking distance to the rail line north or south. A vehicle would be handy but not essential. If required I can pick Workaways up at the Mooloolah Rail station. (make sure to get a train that travels from Brisbane to Nambour.

I am active however I need help with house ,garden, general help and House sitting at tim

I regularly travel to Brisbane (about 1hr.20min) to visit family (two daughters)

If you would like to experience an uncrowded, semi-rural lifestyle with ready access to other places of interest. Want to enjoy privacy rather than Hostel accommodation you will enjoy my place. I am about 20min away from Caloundra a seaside resort plenty of ocean or still water swimming. Surfboard riding at Moffat Beach. I'm happy to drop Workaways off at the bus stop (about 4km away) so they can enjoy some time in Caloundra surfing, shopping or just relaxing on the beach.

I am flexible with the help arrangements. If you prefer to help in a block rather than hours each day I'm happy to do that. Some of my Workaways have travelled away for a few days either pursuing work opportunities or just adjusting to the new aussie environment.

If you have a vehicle there is room to park and connect to power if required. Sorry no garage.

I enjoy fishing however my boat (pictured) has become to much for me. If you are into fishing or would like to try. Perhaps a trip can be organised.

I travel regularly. Best to contact me with your dates what way I can often rearrange my schedule. Most of the Workaways I have hosted have stayed 2 to 4 weeks. I'm open to longer stays if your travel arrangements suit.
I have travelled extensively in South East Asia.
I look forward to meeting fellow travellers young and not so young.

    Accommodation

Own room with Separate toilet and bathroom. I'm lucky to be connected to town water so there are no issues with restricting water useage. Wi fi not provided by host however internet can be connected through a standard Australian phone plan. No landline connected. Mobile phone reception requires going outsiders with some providers. I use Vodafone and the reception is excelllent. No big deal in this climate. I have no restrictions with regard to diet. Open to others personal preferences. May be I can learn something.

  • What else ...

Have traveled in South east Asia.
Europe, UK and USA. Like Thai and Malaysian food. Love my garden. Grew up on the Sunshine Coast so have a long association with the area, moved back here in retirement.
During Helpers time off they have the option of travelling south to Brisbane (1hr 25min) or north to whatever destination they choose by train. A Bus service is not avaible in the immediate area. Happy to drive a Helper to the nearest Bus stop 4km away and pick up.
