Description
Hello workawayers! We are an NGO that aims to promote sustainable living and social equality. We are based on a farm in Passignano sul Trasimeno, a small town in Umbria region. It is an educational farm, located on the hills above the town, where Kora hosts projects and volunteers. The goal of the organisation is to involve local and international youngsters to grow and learn more about sustainable practices in a multicultural environment.
At the farm there are always international volunteers, who come for short or long periods (up to 12 months) to support us with our projects and activities.
In general the activities Kora organises at the farm are:
- Long and short term volunteering periods
- Youth mobility and internships
- Summer camps
- Cooking workshops
- Workshops on sustainable practices
Our NGO counts five people as staff, who manage the project management, the volunteers coordination, the farm activities, the administration, the activities with the community and everything necessary for the association life.
Our place believes that the education of the youth is the tool to promote and create a sustainable society where everyone is respected. That is why Kora provides youth people of all the countries opportunities to grow, develop new skills, learn and share with their peers in a safe environment.
The experience at farm can help to live a rural life, learn sustainable practices and get new ideas.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Staying at the farm is an opportunity to live a rural lifestyle. The farm is located in a green area near the Trasimeno lake, so it's also a great opportunity to discover the surroundings and enjoy nature. Moreover, we host groups of young volunteers from all around Europe for educational experiences so there is always an intercultural environment at the farm, which provides a unique learning experience and the possibility to work on soft skills.
Help
We need people willing to stay at the farm, be part of the international group living here. Being ready to be an active participant in a communitarian lifestyle (meaning sharing spaces, helping each other, sharing experiences/skills). The main tasks are related to daily farm life and to hosting groups management: support with logistics (setting of the rooms, care of common spaces...), help in cleaning (common areas, bathrooms and kitchen), small farm works (can be various, like fixing fences, gardening, cutting grass...), help in the kitchen.

The farm is very big, 18 hectares in total, composed of the main building, few small ones, the herb garden, the veggie garden, the orchard, the olive grove and some wood. The main building of the farm can host up to 45 people, it's a big house with shared rooms, several toilets and common areas. The room that hosts the workawayers is shared with other young people (international volunteers or other workawayers) for a maximum of 4 people in the same room. In summer there is the possibility to be hosted in a tent outside to enjoy rural life at the best! Food is managed by a cooking team, and meals are consumed all together. Most of the meals are vegetarian and vegan, for sustainable reasons. Workawayers can bring some good sustainable recipes from their region, we will be more than happy to share new delicious dishes.
What else ...
The nearest town is Passignano sul Trasimeno, 20 minutes away by walking. The town is a very popular location for tourists in summer because of the Trasimeno lake, the landscape and the ferry to the islands. Umbria region offers a lot of hiking trails, great green landscapes and nature, historical and medieval cities (like Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto, Orvieto, Narni..) and much more. In two hours with public transports, one can easily reach Florence (2H), Rome (2,30H), Bologna (3H) and the seaside (3H).
