Description
We are Marie and Kim, a Norwegian couple in our early 30s living on a charming small farm just outside of Oslo. We recently moved here about six months ago, and we are excited to embark on our first season of farming.
Our farm includes a vegetable garden where we grow tomatoes, chili, cucumbers, carrots, and salad, as well as a small field dedicated to potatoes. We are passionate about sustainable farming and are eager to share our journey with others.
Our location offers the best of both worlds: the tranquility of rural life and the convenience of nearby urban centers. Oslo and Drammen city centers are easily accessible, and the beautiful Drammen fjord is just 1km away from our home, providing stunning scenery and outdoor activities.
You'll be living with us, Marie and Kim, along with our friendly cat named Timian. We love the peaceful environment of our farm and the sense of community it brings. We believe you'll fall in love with the natural beauty of our surroundings and the welcoming atmosphere of our home.
We look forward to welcoming you to our farm and sharing our love for nature, gardening, and sustainable living. Whether you are interested in learning new skills or simply enjoying the serene Norwegian countryside, we hope you'll enjoy your stay with us!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Sure! Here’s a draft for the section "Describe the cultural exchange available at your place":
At our farm, we offer a rich cultural exchange experience where you can connect with us, our community, and the beautiful surroundings. Social activities are an integral part of life here. You will have the opportunity to join us for shared meals, where we can exchange stories and learn about each other's cultures. We often host informal gatherings with friends and neighbors, providing a chance for you to meet and interact with locals.
We are passionate about sustainable farming and are eager to share our knowledge and skills with you. From learning how to grow and harvest vegetables to gaining hands-on experience in carpentry and firewood preparation, you will acquire practical skills that are valuable and rewarding. Additionally, you can learn about Norwegian traditions, cuisine, and lifestyle.
Hosting people from different cultures is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn as well. We look forward to hearing about your experiences, traditions, and perspectives, which enrich our lives and broaden our understanding of the world. Whether it’s through cooking together, sharing music, or discussing various topics, we value the mutual exchange of knowledge and culture.
In exchange for your help, you will also have time to explore the local area. The nearby cities of Oslo and Drammen offer a variety of cultural experiences, from museums and historic sites to vibrant markets and scenic fjords. We are happy to provide recommendations and help you make the most of your visit.
We believe that this cultural exchange will be enriching for both you and us, fostering a greater appreciation for diverse ways of life and creating lasting memories.Help
We are looking for enthusiastic helpers to join us for a week or more. The main tasks will include helping in our garden, cut bushes, chopping wood, making firewood, and harvesting vegetables and blueberries. Additionally, you may assist with small carpentry projects, such as making hoops and building small structures. No prior experience is necessary, as we are happy to teach you the skills required.
