    Description

I am a 29 year old PhD student from Co.Clare in Ireland. I live in the rural countryside with my dog Timmy and cat Princess Pepper. I study Politics and International Relations at the University of Limerick which is roughly 50 minutes away. I spend four days a week at the university, meaning that i leave at 7am and return around 5pm. My studies focus mainly on feminism, post colonialism, the military and human rights. I would like to meet people from all walks of life and to engage in some interesting conversations. I am open minded and accept everyone exactly as they are. I would be happy to take a single person or a couple, friends if they are happy to share.

    Important information to note:

Ideally, I would take someone for 1-2 weeks. Sometimes there can be personality clashes or the work is not what you expected it to be, this is why it is best that we do a 2-3 day trial and if we are both happy we can continue on, but if it not what we both expect, it is better for everyone for you to move on after the trial.

The work is not for the faint hearted, I have a garden (1 and a half acre) which looks like a jungle which needs to be cut back. It also rains a lot here so you would have to be comfortable to work in the rain.

The work would be 25 hours per week, depending on the weather, you could work from 9-2 each day and have the rest of the day off.

I live in a very rural area, meaning that there is no public transport nearby, I do have one bike that you can use to go to the local shop. I usually pass by local towns which do have public transport which i am happy to drop you to on my way.

Internet access is extremely unreliable, it is important to note this, sometimes it is difficult to even get a regular phone signal. You may be out of service for days.

Due to my extremely busy schedule, i cannot commit to bringing you on tours or day trips (although if I have time then I am more than happy to), on your days off you can take a tour from the local town, which will bring you around to the tourist destinations.

I am interested in taking a couple of different people on at the same time so that it could be a project where everyone works together. It would be beneficial for one person to cook for the entire group and you can take turns doing this.

I have a 1 bedroom cottage which can sleep 4 people - 2 people in bedroom, 2 people in pull out couch. So ideally, I would take two sets of friends or couples. This is flexible though. I live in the main house, this is my personal space, but in the evenings we could eat together in my house. If the weather is good, we could do a BBQ at the nearby lakes.

The property is based on an acre and a half, with a wild garden which needs to be tamed. There are a lot of edible plants and herbs in the garden which i would like to keep. The work involved could be anything from cutting nettles and briars, to working with a strimmer. The inside of the house needs some doors and window sills sanded and varnished. General housekeeping would also be welcomed. I would love for someone to be at home with Timmy during the day and to take him for walks as he loves playing and being around people. He is extremely friendly and loves to be out in the garden.

You will be staying either in my small spare room which has a double futon bed, or the cottage across the way from my house. The house has one bathroom, a sitting room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a large conservatory. The house is about 1km from the main road, it is down a small lane and is extremely safe.
