Regenerative Agriculture and Bioconstruction in Tomatlán, Zacatlán de las Manzanas, Puebla. Mexico We are a family made up of an anthropologist, a geographer, our little teenager raised in these and other mountains, as well as 2 dogs, two cats and future chickens and perhaps sheep, all important members of our family. We are starting a project that is inspired by Permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture (syntropic), so in our home we grow food seeking to restore the health of the soil, favoring the biodiversity of our ecosystem and contributing to natural cycles on our small scale. . In a rural environment and surrounded by a small forest reforested by ourselves (almost two decades ago) on the banks of a tributary stream of the Ajajalpan River, we found ourselves building a cabin with bioconstruction techniques. We also work to restore soil health and biodiversity on a 7,800 m2 plot of land, under different agroforestry management techniques. Our mission is to build sustainable food systems that promote food sovereignty and comprehensive well-being.

Somos una familia compuesta por un antropólogo, una geógrafa, nuestro pequeño adolescente criado en éstas y otras montañas, además de 2 perras, dos gatos y futuramente gallinas y quizá borregos, todos integrantes importantes de nuestra familia. Estamos arrancando con un proyecto que se inspira en la Permacultura y la Agricultura Regenerativa (sintrópica), por lo que en nuestro hogar cultivamos alimentos buscando restaurar la salud del suelo, favoreciendo la biodiversidad de nuestro ecosistema y contribuyendo a los ciclos naturales en nuestra pequeña escala.
En un entorno rural y rodeados de un pequeño bosque reforestado por nosotros mismos (desde hace casi dos décadas) a la orilla de un arroyo afluente del río Ajajalpan, nos encontramos construyendo una cabaña con técnicas de bioconstrucción. Asimismo trabajamos para restaurar la salud del suelo y biodiversidad en un terreno de 7800 m2, bajo distintas técnicas de manejo agroforestal.
Nuestra misión es construir sistemas alimentarios sostenibles que promuevan la soberanía alimentaria y el bienestar integral.

Help
We seek to share with people related to the interests of permaculture or who want to know and live the experience of regenerative agriculture and bioconstruction. We have a lot of work at home and appreciate the support in some areas. In the garden we would appreciate help with planting, pruning, mowing or harvesting, either in the care of our edible forest (in formation) or in the raised beds. Energetic hands would also help us for work in the composting area and above all, in bioconstruction work working with natural materials, mainly wood, straw and clay. We may also require support in caring for our pets if we have to be away from home for more than one night.
Buscamos compartir con personas afines a los intereses de la permacultura o con ganas de conocer y vivir la experiencia de la agricultura regenerativa y la bioconstrucción.
Tenemos mucho trabajo en casa y agradecemos el apoyo en algunas áreas.
En el jardín agradeceríamos ayuda con labores de plantación, poda, siega o cosecha ya sea en el cuidado de nuestro bosque comestible (en formación) o en los bancales elevados. También nos ayudarían manos enérgicas para el trabajo en el área de compostaje y sobre todo, en el trabajo de bioconstrucción trabajando con materiales naturales, principalmente madera, paja y arcilla. Posiblemente también requerimos apoyo en el cuidado de nuestras mascotas si acaso tenemos que estar fuera de casa por más de una noche.

Accommodation
We are in the bioconstruction phase of our cabin, we live in the tapanco where we have a small kitchenette installed for everyone. We offer basic and nutritious food, a comfortable space in a tent with a mattress and blanket inside our cabin, in the garden or inside another cabin also in the construction phase; You can have the kitchen, dry bathroom and shower in the space, in the garden you can enjoy the hammocks, the bonfire or go down to the river for a walk or meditate.
Estamos en fase de bioconstrucción de nuestra cabaña, nosotros habitamos en el tapanco en donde tenemos instalada una pequeña cocineta para todos.
Ofrecemos alimentación básica y nutritiva, un espacio cómodo en casa de campaña con colchoneta y cobija dentro de nuestra cabaña, en el jardín o dentro de otra cabaña también en fase constructiva; puedes disponer de la cocina, baño seco y ducha del espacio, en el jardín puedes disfrutar de las hamacas, la fogata ó bajar al río para dar un paseo o meditar.

We are located between the two magical towns of Zacatlán de las Manzanas and Chignahuapan, Puebla, both with relevant historical and cultural importance in the Sierra Norte of Puebla. We are also approximately 2 kilometers from the entrance of a complex of tourist waterfalls: Quetzalapa, Tuliman and Las Brisas. In Zacatlán you can enjoy historical walks, typical food, the Barranca de los Jilgueros viewpoint, its glass murals, etc. In Chignahuapan you can learn how they make the spheres by hand, their hot springs and lagoon. You can visit other surrounding communities that are nearby and easily accessible by public transportation, car or motorcycle. To enter and leave our space by public transport it is necessary to walk approximately 1 km to take a bus to the center of Zacatlán or Chignahuapan and in approximately 20 minutes you will be in either of the two places, you can also walk or take a transport to go to the center of Tomatlán, the community where our project belongs.
Nos encontramos entre los dos pueblos mágicos de Zacatlán de las Manzanas y Chignahuapan, Puebla, ambos con una relevante importancia histórica y cultural en la Sierra Norte de Puebla. Asímismo nos encontramos a 2 kilometros aproximadamente de la entrada de un complejo de cascadas turísticas: Quetzalapa, Tuliman y Las Brisas.
En Zacatlán puedes disfrutar de paseos históricos, comida típica, el mirador de la Barranca de los Jilgueros, sus vitromurales, etc. En Chignahuapan puedes conocer como elaboran las esferas de manera artesanal, sus agua termales y laguna.
Puedes visitar otras comunidades aledañas que se encuentran cerca y de fácil acceso en transporte público, auto o motocicleta.
Para entrar y salir de nuestro espacio en transporte público es necesario caminar aproximadamente 1 km para tomar un colectivo hacia el centro de Zacatlán o Chignahuapan y en aprox 20 minutos estarás en cualquiera de los dos sitios, también puedes caminar o tomar un transporte para ir al centro de Tomatlán, comunidad a dónde pertenece nuestro proyecto.
