    Description

We are a group of local people living on the beautiful and cosy island of Malapascua. After three years of operating our community resort, covid stopped our operations, leaving the place unoccupied. The magic of the hostel is still alive, and it is with the inspiring memories that we are now preparing to open up our doors again.

The mission of this project is to revive our resort by collaborating with people and nature in hope to provide tourists a travelling experience they will always remember.

    Your impact
As a volunteer, you will be welcomed to share any of your skills to advance the renovation, as well as connecting with the area surrounding the resort. Some projects already in progress include:

    - Construct bamboo huts
    - Renovate kitchen and relaxing places
    - Prepare social media content for reopening (creating our website, social media performance, booking.com, agoda)

We are also enthusiastic to combine community activations within the village, such as:
    - Art Projects (f.ex. mural paintings, craft DIY projects, etc)
    - Clean our beaches (included work with local kids and raising their awareness)
    - Teach / activities with the local kids (art, sport, language-exchange..)
    - Take care of animals at the local shelter

    Our island
Located at the North of the island, our resort is embedded within the small & warmful village of Kalubian (meaning coconut trees in Filipino!) It is the perfect location at 4 minutes walking distance from a secluded beach, apart from all other resorts. Malapascua is a little island at the far North of Cebu, worldly recognized for its crystal clear waters, brightful coral reefs and marine life. Many divers come here to see the legendary Thresher sharks, one of the only place on Earth to do so at shallow depth!

    Beyond us
By contributing to our reestablishment, you will get an immersive experience with our Filipino people. The village around is opening their heart & culture to those willing to discover it. Past volunteers had pleasure to take part in family dinners, karaoke nights, « fiestas » and even disco! During your time off, we can help facilitate island hopping tours, snorkelling or diving!

If you are interested write us an e-mail with the following information:
    1. Short introduction of who you are
    2. What languages do you speak
    3. What skills you can offer us
    4. How long would you prefer to stay
and of course any questions you have to us!

    Salamat (thank you)!
