    Description

We're Luis and Alice, and we've lived at the remote lighthouse of Santa Marta since 2019.
Simplicity is our way of life.
The lighthouse, which is still fully functional, was built in 1925. We've worked hard to get it back to its former glory.
There's an 1km beach, that is secluded and protected, where we protect and study sea turtles.
Near the lighthouse we have a small private bay, which we want to transform into a natural aquarium, in the near future. Currently, it is still our means of subsistence.
It's a very quit place, isolated from the population, because the access is difficult, only possible with a 4x4 car. There is limited water, no communication network, just 8km away and limited electricity. The weather changes between sunny and windy days.

The place have unspoiled nature, and our goal is to maintain that, becoming self-sustaining, having the smallest ecological footprint.

We want to turn the lighthouse active with the essencials maritime services and create conditions for small-scale ecotourism, with a small family restaurant, with the environmental massification as a main focus.

    What else ...

The lighthouse is located on a cape, it's an isolated area so there's no transports, just our personal car (4x4). Towards the south there's a beautiful coastline with beaches and the Namibe desert. To the north, there are also several beaches along the way to Benguela.
120 km from the lighthouse we have the second highest mountain in Angola (Serra das Neves).
