    Description

    Hello everyone,

We are a family living in the countryside north of Rome, surrounded by nature and simplicity. As a family—with three children and several animals—we are committed to living a life full of beauty, creativity, and gratitude, immersed in the natural world but also close to an extraordinary city like Rome, which is just 30 km away and well connected by public transport. Our home is located in the beautiful Veio Park, along the Via Francigena.

We are looking for a person (or a couple—actually, couples are more than welcome) to help us with cleaning, tidying, cooking, and animal care.
We offer accommodation only: a cozy guesthouse in the woods with a private entrance, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. The house has electricity, hot and cold water, and Wi-Fi. Meals are not included, but you are free to cook independently. There is also the possibility of working outside the home: we offer the opportunity to do hourly-paid work (household or gardening tasks) in a nearby house, for those who wish to supplement.

In exchange for accommodation, we ask for five hours of help per day, five days a week, with scheduling to be agreed upon together based on mutual needs and rhythms. In the case of a couple, we ask for four hours of work each. We are, of course, open to organizing the time and tasks in a flexible and harmonious way.

This experience is ideal for those who truly love animals, have no fear of dogs (even large ones) or cats, have no allergies of any kind, and do not have pets of their own to bring (we cannot host other animals). A basic knowledge of Italian is also required, enough to understand and communicate for daily tasks.

If you’re looking for an authentic way to live immersed in nature, in a warm and lively atmosphere, and you’re ready to contribute with heart and hands, we would be happy to hear from you. Suitable candidates will be selected after a phone interview. A trial period is required.

We are available from June to September, and if the experience goes well, we are open to extending into the autumn months.

    Thank you.

We live in a very unique way compared to the surrounding population. We bring a different vision to the world than the ordinary one, and we love sharing it with the people we come into contact with!
It’s hard to describe in words — you really have to get to know us to understand!

The area we live in is surrounded by small towns full of life and culture, where workawayers can come into direct and meaningful contact with local habits and traditions.
I mention Calcata because it’s probably the most well-known, but our main reference town — Formello — is also rich in initiatives and events.

There are so many beautiful and evocative places to visit nearby, like Campagnano di Roma, Sacrofano, and Capena.
There are stunning lakes just a few minutes from our home, surrounded by charming towns like Trevignano, Anguillara, and Bracciano with its magical castle.
There’s also the little jewel of Lake Martignano and the lesser-known, peaceful Lake of Nepi.

It would be impossible for me to list all the beauty that surrounds us!

Yes, we are definitely open to a language exchange and happy to share my language. However, a basic knowledge of Italian is necessary to manage daily communication and tasks here.!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We offer private accommodation in a small house adjacent to ours, with a kitchen, bathroom, and a double bedroom.
The cottage shares the garden with the main land, so you might find our dogs outside your window greeting you, our cats purring, and our super bunny asking you for a carrot!

You can choose whether to eat on your own or share meals with us when we’re at home — we would really enjoy that!
We eat Italian-style meals, with simple but tasty cuisine.
We don’t have fixed mealtimes: we like to eat when we’re hungry, so you’ll often find one of us in the kitchen!
We also enjoy sharing meals and playing some board games together after dinner.
Sometimes we watch movies together too — we haven’t had a TV for many years, but we have a large projector where we stream films directly from the web.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

our house is about 5 km from the main town; right outside we have a bus stop that takes you to the town and continues towards rome. The nearest train station is a 20 minute drive away (Cesano or La Storta). We can provide you with a bicycle if you don't have one.

The house rules are few but must be respected: after 10 pm we try to reduce the noise so as not to disturb our neighbors; no loud music so as not to disturb wild animals, neither during the day nor at night. There are teenagers in the house, so no drugs of any kind, thank you :-) smoking is not allowed in the house, but outside there is no problem.

very important thing: we have two Maremma dogs, one of which is a male, very good but very big. You must not be afraid of dogs to live with us!
