    Description

This is a small-scale, highly-diversified, super-low-input, direct-to-consumer, downright ninja farm located in the town of Tzununa, on the shores of Lake Atitlan. Nearby the farm, there is a newly built guest-house that host farm volunteers, course participants, and other travellers. The guest house also has a bar, cafe, and farm to table restaurant. We basically need help in both areas.

The farm has 7 years of operating experience and things run pretty smoothly. We have milk goats, chickens for meat and eggs, pigs, fish, fruit, vegetables, and more. We sell at a weekly market and we host groups to the farm regularly to share what we are up to. We have a farm manager named Nicolas, who is from Tzununa. We usually have a volunteer manager as well. Aside from that, Juan and myself are the other two workers on the farm.

The guest house is a new project that just opened in December 2014. It is built all of natural materials, mainly bambu and stone. It is designed to work in union with the farm and strives to meet the same ecological standards as well. All of the chefs are from nearby villages. They are the go to guys at the hotel aside from myself.

Tzununa is a small and still undiscovered town on the north shores of lake atitlan. Surrounded by amazing natural beauty and the rich culture of traditional Mayan people, people can hike to nearby waterfalls for a swim or up to the crest for amazing views of the whole lake. San Marcos is a 15 minute tuk tuk (local taxi) ride away and boasts lots of activities for entertainment.

Tuk Tuks are three wheeled awesome little cars that can take you anywhere. They arrive at the entrance to the guest house and can take you to San Marcos or to the public dock. At the Dock you can take boats to other towns. You can arrive by boat via panjachel or by road from the highway, via santa clara.

We need GRAPHIC DESIGNER WIZARDS, but throughout the project, workawayers will be immersed an amazing, interactive permaculture paradise. We milk goats twice daily, kill chickens and pigs, raise frutis and vegetables, build ponds, and dance in our gardens. You will come to make movies and you will leave inspired to build your own permaculture paradise as soon as you can!!!

Right now, WE NEED A GRAPHIC DESIGNER WIZARD! We need to create a set of infographics that outline a curriculum of ecological gardening and permaculture. If you are a GRAPHIC DESIGNER WIZARD, please reveal yourself.

Please write us as soon as possible if interested, we are prioritising these projects currently. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE GRAPHIC DESIGNER SKILLZ --- AT THE TOP OF YOUR INQUIRY.

It would be 5 hours per day 5 days a week and you will be fed like a king (or queen) and housed in our super swanky lodging.

While we need help in other areas, GRAPHIC DESIGNER WIZARDS are most needed!!! PLEASE NOTE AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR INQUIRY IF YOU HAVE GRAPHIC DESIGNER EXPERIENCE OR NOT. If you do not mention your experience (even if it is none at all), we will likely ignore your response. Think of this as a first trial for us to see who is reading carefully and paying attention.

We also need help on the farm and invite volunteers to join us for morning chores at 7am or just come up for the morning shift from 8am to noon several days, monday through friday. Farm work is varied, especially in a place like this. Aside from animal care there is a whole host of stuff that needs done. Planting, transplanting, weeding, mulching vegetables and food forest, building ponds, nursery work and a bunch more.
Afternoons are always free and evening shifts are only a few nights a week. Volunteers can use this time to explore the surrounding area.

We see this an an opportunity for volunteers to learn about farming and small scale homesteading while also helping out in a social atmosphere, where you can meet people and enjoy the natural beauty that is around. plus, the guest house is swanky and you will eat really really well!

Lake Atitlan is an amazing place that often has a way of making people stay much longer than they originally planned. Tzununa is very small and quiet. There are amazing hiking opportunities all around with waterfalls, views, and other spots to explore at every turn. A 10 minute boat, 45 minute walk, or 15 minute tuk tuk ride away is the town of San Marcos. San Marcos has many restaurants, yoga and meditation practices, and an all around solid community of local and international people. Each of the other towns on the lake has its own personality and each one is worth exploring.
