We are the first hostel that ever opened in a favela in Rio de Janeiro. It´s a famous project for the successful work of almost 15 years, but also because it is in a very safe favela, which at the same time has the best views and central location. You will overlook all of Rio and the sugar loaf mountain. The favela is green, tropical and with no street noise, however, you reach public transport with less than 5 minutes walking.

We are located in a secure favela in Rio, close to everything. You would have a great place to stay, get in contact with locals, if you are into sports, dance or other events, you may even create your own on our huge rooftop deck. You will also learn better portuguese (some Portugues or at least Spanish is required!), close to many cultural projects in the favela, or set up your own.
We are a small hostel with private rooms and dorm rooms (max. occupation 20 people) with the best view of Rio de Janeiro. We need help as a tour guide, welcoming tourists, doing general front desk work, running errands, attracting more tourists (by working online or offline - extra commission possible), and general work in the house, which may (but doesn´t have to) include cleaning.
You will have your own room with private bathroom for as long as we are not fully occupied. In very high season (New Years, Carnival), you may have to share a room, but that would be only a few days. Food is included (breakfast, lunch, dinner), although you may have to help cooking :)
You will be very close to the going out area Lapa in Rio, as well as to the beaches. You may prefer however, to hang out in the favela, as it has the best views of RIo, very nice people, and lots of hang out points. Any place in Rio can be easily reached by public transport. Joining in cultural projects in the favela or creating your own is a very likely possibility. There are music, dance and language workshops available.
