Hello, my name is Priya. I live with my parents in a family of 35 people. My mother Kumari in 2003 established her private children’s home, so since then me and my family we are dedicating our love and time for children in need by providing them a happy environment to grow.
In order to be more sustainable and to grow our own vegetables and fruits for children we are about to start our own organic farm based on permaculture principles in Perumbakkam village (15 min. by car from our home). At the moment there are construction work going on as we are arranging all necessary facilities for people who will be working in a farm to live. This farm, we dream, will not only be a big support for our big family with fresh organic food, but will also be a great place to educate our children about nature, plants, sustainability and organic gardening!

From June 2017 we are looking for volunteers who are experienced in organic farming and could help us to start from the very beginning: to prepare the land, the soil and help us to settle everything around. We don’t have “know-how” so we really need someone who could help us with their knowledge and skills and would guide us in the process. If you don’t have experience, but organic farm is something that really interests you, you are also welcome to contact us – we will need strong hands to help us what is required around as well.
Volunteers experienced in cooking and serving are also most welcome.
The land is 0,5 acres. At the moment there are fruit trees surrounding the land: banana, guava, coconut trees and etc.
We expect you to help us 5 hours per day, 5 days per week and we are in need of Long term volunteers. Min-2months Max- 1year.

Perumbakkam village is 10 min by car or rickshaw from Tiruvannamalai town.
Tiruvannamalai is known for everlasting peace and divinity because of the presence of Lord Shiva in two forms: as the holy mountain of Arunachala and as the holy shrine of Lord Arunachaleswara. Tiruvannamalai confers salvation to one who merely thinks of it. There are Ashrams of the world-famous saint Ramana Maharishi and of Yogi Ram Surat Kumar. Some events also have been very famous in Tiruvannamalai: Deepam at the end of the year (November, December) and the Full Moon every month. The city is also very popular place for different Satsangs and retreats (Yoga, Advaita/Non-Duality). Every year 1-2 million tourists from different countries visit this holy place for peace and silence. Visitors find its silent environment and very natural atmosphere appealing.
