Join our family farm and help us with dogs in Hörby, Sweden

  Description

  My farm has 4,5 hectares of mixed areas, wooded, fields, wetland and bushy. My hope is to fence in large parts of it so that my dogs can run off the leash. There is also hopes for a natural lake in the area where it is low and wet. I have four dogs, two American Akitas from Ukraine live outside, and the other two and seven cats and a parakeet live inside our house. I take in foster cats rescued in the area, volunteering for a local cat rescue association.
  My partner is a handy guy and works with installations and woodwork and then tries to do everything around the farm. I try to give my animals the best life. Cleaning is a big part of my everyday routine. We are both 58.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We live in a rural area of the southern most part of Sweden. Next door is a nature reserve and all around are beautiful spots to visit. Fishing is possible half an hour away in Ringsjön. The coast to the Baltic sea is half an hour to the east. Nearest town Hörby is twenty minutes away. Malmö, Sweden's third largest city is an hour away.

  Help

  Helping put in place the fencing for the dog enclosures, clearing land and help with the foster cats and walking and playing with dogs. We would love to have vegetables planted but we are not great gardeners.

  Accommodation

  Different options: in a four person caravan with shower, toilet and kitchen, alternatively a room above the garage which is a bedroom only. Bedding available. The bathroom in the house can then be utilised. Towels available. Laundry is available in the basement which also has a large freezer available for use.
  We are carnivores and try to eat a warm meal everyday. We'd be happy to share mealtime with you, us or you cooking. We are not formal people and prefer to be easygoing.
