    Description

We are Letizia and Jacopo two friends for a long time. Now we are also in love!
A long time ago we did Art studies together in a famous and creazy scool of Art in Florence.
We were born and raised in Florence, the old city flows in our blood, but growing up we have chosen country life!
We are parents of 3 girls, so respect for children, joy and health is our priority here. Jacopo is a beekeeper, grower and truffle hunter.
I am Letizia teacher of Yoga and jewelery artisan, I have already hosted Workers and it was a success! Today I thought it was a great opportunity again to offer you a beautiful paradise to help us in our TENT IN THE WOODS project!

We are in Tuscany ,far from Florence 20 minutes by car, 45 minutes by bus, 1 hour by bike, exactly the place is called Sicelle, reachable from Sambuca / San Donato in Poggio / Tavarnelle val di Pesa.
This land rich in aquatic fossils of ancient eras, today offers hilly landscapes of unique sweetness, between a wild luminous wood, tidy cultivated fields and some ancient villages that offer flowered corners!

We are preparing a space with a beg tent to live in the woods! We offer hospitality to help us make this magical space in the heart of Chianti more welcoming and functional!
This tent is large enough to accommodate a central fire, especially suitable for the spring and autumn period where looking for some warmth and shelter from the rain is important.
The tent was bought by a Swiss company that produces breathable and natural canvas. The structure of poles to buy it would have been expensive and to send them to this place would have been impossible, so we decided to make them ourselves and calmly for 1 year we were hunting for poles in the wood, dry trees in 8 meters plant, not rotten, solid, straight, cutting and lower them to the ground, cleaning them from the branches and taken with the car up to here, and with a hand tools smoothed and oiled was an epic story !!!
Now the Tent is Up!!. Now you are welcome to breathe the aroma of this wood, honoring it and respecting it like a father, and welcome to tuch the river and honoring it like a mother, and you are welcome to excange whit your help to fix the canvas , fix the plan on the ground that must be flat and compact, studying a natural refrigerator by holes in the ground, preparing some path to arrive the compost toilet, another to reach the source of water), and another path to reach the river to go swimming and relax in the cool looking at the green and blue dragonflies!

Here you need adaptation, strong hands and sympathy, we will give you gloves, hoes, rakes, ropes, and good cooking to carry on the project!
And believe you will be well supported and accommodated, we are able to make gurmet foods even here in the woods, we are very good cooks and we have a vegetable garden from which to enjoy fresh things!
Know that in na wood you will not have a washing machine. Know that in a wood obviously there is no wi-fi!
However, you will have electricity from our solar panels, and you can charge your cell phones, and we can listen music and watch movies from my pc.
Know that to find a supermarket, a washing machine, a bar, or a bus stop it takes a few kilometers to travel and you can do it in 1 hour on foot, otherwise you can agree with us when we can take you with our car, but you will have to agree with us at least one day before.

    The project:

The intent is to create a livable camp in the woods!
We need to clean the wood paths around the tent by moving the fallen and chopped wood, moving some pebbles and raking. Create a small shed with wood from the forest for the second compost toilet and an essential place for washing (currently this is done in the cool river and the first compost toilet is already in operation).
Then we have to unroll a 300m in the woods to bring the wather from the source to the tent.
Arrange the comfort zone plan by raking the earth. all this will be done in the shade of the forest in the morning or late afternoon when it is cooler! And sometimes we may have some job to do for the bees for make honey!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The space for guests is a caravan, there are two single beds and a double bed,
you can set up your own tent or hammock if you have one
or stay down with your sleeping bag wherever you prefer in the woods,
..... and one night you will sleep in the tepee Tent!
Bring your own towels and sheets, otherwise notify the host for find a solution!

There is no bathroom in the woods! we have a point for water from a spring and here we wash dishes, hands, body but not teeth.
The shower we have to build if you help us! for now the dip in the river is the easiest solution.
Then we have a compost toilet : is a hole where you can make your comfort and then you then cover with leaves to let nature compost everything, there you can go with water in a bottle to rinse yourself in the private parts of your body.
To brush our teeth, drink, cook we take drinking water from the village

If you want to move at your request we should organize ourselves to drive you but this must be decided at least one day before in respect of everyone's times.

.You can swim at the river which is nice fresh and clean
You can walk and see beautiful Tuscan farmhouses 2 minutes from here
You can take the cycle path by bike or on foot to cross the countryside and reach the medieval town of Sambuca
