whatever the activity chosen volunteers with us will inevitably learn more about the culture and people of india than they would by traveling as tourists or by working with a conventional organization. our staff with whom they will interact as with a large joint family come form all parts of india and include tribals and traditional craftsmen. our projects are invariably directed at helping local villagers. in addition, to this there are often people from other parts of the world interning with us, so we actually do walk the talk when it comes to 'thinking global, acting local'. as experiential travel experts we are also able to help volunteers them with tips on how to experience the region.
In their spare time they will see some of the most beautiful parts of india and meet people from various nations the world . they will also meet and work with less literate indians including tribal people. our work aims at providing employment and training to people from many different walks of life.
i'm currently looking for people with a: strong inclination towards experiential travel and adventure; sense of social commitment ; passionate interest in areas like alternative medicine, online administrative systems, carpentry, gardening, birdwatching, angling, mountain biking, kayaking etc. it's not important to have multiple interests. a passionate interest in just one thing is fine.
what i'm looking for is passion and commitment and a sense of global community. we have many openings depending on the applicants skill set. in general stays of less than one month are not interesting and 3 months would be the preferred stay.
once volunteers get in touch with a brief on their skill sets we could determine if they will fit in somewhere on our projects. examples of work they could be involved in . our main project is as suggested in the title is to: Help Develop Eco Retreat and Homeopathy based Spa in Tropical Goa
This will involve helping build structures to host guests under expert supervision, identifying bird and plant life on the property and building an annotated archive online. Developing an adventure activity program based on kayaking, mountain biking, angling , sailing etc
depends on project. but glamping will be the norm even in remote places. we are in the experiential luxury business, so volunteers always have very comfortable accommodation ! 3 meals a day also provided free of charge.
if volunteers have any special research interests or travel wish list we can help them with this. that's our expertise. we are experts on the cultural and history of the entire subcontinent. I worked as a travel writer and columnist for many years and have many contacts all over india for authentic experiential travel.
