Description
Welcome to this place – Biguaçu, SC (Southern Brazil)
Our property is a family countryside house, located at the foot of the Serra do Tabuleiro, in the district of Sorocaba do Sul, Biguaçu – just one hour away from the center of Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina.
It’s a very special place in this wide world – surrounded by natural beauty, forests, waterfalls, birdsong, the shade of old trees, and the crystal-clear waters of the Quinta das Bicas River.
We host a variety of activities, including family celebrations, craft beer brewing workshops, scout camps, yoga workshops and practices, spiritual retreats, and guided hikes through the forest to the beautiful Amâncio Waterfall.
This is a great place for people who enjoy nature, manual work, and learning by doing. If you're looking for a genuine rural lifestyle experience and want to be part of building a regenerative project, get in touch. We’d love to welcome you here!
About the Hosts and Daily Life on the Property
Please note that there are no permanent residents living full-time at the countryside house. The hosts may or may not be present during part of your stay. Whenever possible, your arrival will be welcomed personally by one of the family members, but during your volunteering period, you may also meet trusted collaborators who help care for and manage different areas of the property.
Here are some of the people you might come across:
Lauro, a neighbor who assists with the cattle;
Lucas, a skilled helper who supports with general maintenance;
Gilson, in charge of gardening and landscape care;
Kéia, who helps keep the house clean and organized.
The project is led by members of the family:
Rosangela Lisboa, the property owner, is a craftswoman who works with patchwork, knitting, crochet, and is also the family’s traditional cook and guardian of culinary memories;
Rodrigo (her son) and his wife Caren take care of the property's administration and are usually present on weekends every other week;
Marcelo (her other son) and his wife Verônica help with operational tasks and on-site support.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The region surrounding the place is rich in cultural and ecological experiences. Nestled in a rural community dedicated to cattle raising, dairy production, and organic vegetable farming, visitors can engage with local traditions and rhythms of country life. Nearby, indigenous villages offer opportunities for respectful cultural exchange, guided visits, and learning about ancestral knowledge and crafts. The landscape is interwoven with hiking trails that pass through native Atlantic Forest, leading to crystal-clear rivers and hidden waterfalls — ideal for immersive nature experiences, group adventures, and educational activities.
Help
We’re working on long-term ecological and landscape restoration projects. These include controlling invasive species, reforesting degraded areas, identifying native flora and fauna, restoring old structures, collecting and chopping firewood, removing construction waste, repurposing demolition wood (cleaning, removing nails, cutting), repairing fences, and some light farm tasks like taking care of cattle and maintaining springs and water systems.
We are looking for volunteers who want to stay in a quiet rural place with simple but comfortable lodging and a fully equipped kitchen. In exchange for 3 to 4 hours of help per day (to be arranged together), we offer accommodation and the opportunity to experience a meaningful connection with the land, people, and natural cycles.
Some areas where you can get involved:
Clearing debris from past construction and pruning, and organizing materials for reuse (stones and rubble are used for paths, branches for firewood or bonfires);
Renovating and maintaining structures (main house, barns, outdoor areas);
Helping with general farming tasks and ecological land care, maintaining springs and water capture systems;
Creating a nursery, building a chicken coop, and planting native species;
Maintaining trails, natural swimming areas, and rustic constructions.
