  Description

  We are a Belgian french speaking family with 3 children (7, 10 and 12 years) living in Huccorgne, close to Huy in the South of Belgium. Before that, we lived during 8 years abroad as expatriated (5 years in Germany and 3 years in UK) and we made a one year sailing trip on the Atlantic Ocean. My husband (Antoine) is an engineer and works at the moment as carpenter. I (Aude) work as lawyer in environment. Furthermore I am passionated by wild flowers and herbalism.
  
  We are open-minded, nature lovers and we enjoy doing things by ourself (cooking, building, repairing,…). We are also convinced by the importance of an ecological transition and try to take part of it. Our sailing trip has even more opened our mind on alternative ways of living, working and educate. Since we are back, the children are educated in a Montessori school.
  
  
We are looking for someone to help us to take care of the children and the meals from September 2024. We also would like our children to improve their langage skills, mostly in English.
  
  We are looking for someone dynamic, with the joy of living and who loves taking care of children. We are looking for a someone with a car driving license (B). A past childcare experience would be great.

  If you want to improve your knowledge of French and live in a family that moves, this is the right place ! We have a lot of space for you. Look at the pictures : you will have your own sleeping room and bathroom.

  Nous sommes une famille belge avec 3 enfants (7, 10 et 12 ans) vivant à Huccorgne, près de Huy dans le Sud de la Belgique. Nous avons vécu 8 ans à l'étranger en tant qu’expatriés (5 ans en Allemagne et 3 ans en Grande-Bretagne). Nous sommes ensuite partis un an en voyage sur notre voilier autour de l’Océan Atlantique. Mon mari (Antoine) est ingénieur et travaille maintenant comme menuisier/charpentier. En ce qui me concerne, je travaille (Aude) en tant que juriste dans l’environnement. De plus, je suis passionnée par les plantes sauvages et médicinales et par l’herboristerie.
  
  Nous sommes ouverts d’esprit, amoureux de la nature et passionnés par le fait-maison (cuisine, construction, réparations,…). Nous sommes également convaincus par la nécessité d’une transition écologique, et faisons notre mieux pour y prendre part. Notre voyage en voilier nous a encore plus ouverts l’esprit sur les manières alternatives de vivre, de travailler et d’éduquer. Depuis notre retour, les enfants sont inscrits dans une école à pédagogie active.
  
  Nous recherchons quelqu'un pour nous aider à s’occuper des enfants et des repas à partir de septembre 2024. Nous aimerions aussi que nos enfants améliorent leurs langues étrangères, en particulier l’anglais.
  
  Nous recherchons quelqu'un de dynamique, ayant la joie de vivre et l’envie de s’occuper d’enfants. Nous aimerions trouver quelqu’un avec un permis de conduire (B). Une expérience de garde d’enfants sera un plus.

  Si tu as envie d'améliorer tes connaissances en français et de vivre au sein d'une famille où ça bouge, tu es au bon endroit ! Nous avons un grand espace à t’offrir chez nous. Jette un coup d’oeil aux photos: tu auras ta propre chambre à coucher et salle de bain.
  
  Nous avons déjà accueillis chez nous des Workawayers à cinq reprises. Ce fût à chaque fois un moment fort en partage culturel et humain. Seras-tu le/la prochain•e ?

  You will improve your French speaking skills and discover the Belgian culture with an open-minded family.
  
  During the week, when the children will be at school, you will have time for your own activities (French lessons, taking part in an organic farming project,…). You could also enjoy full days off, to be discussed based on our timetable.
  During the weekend, we like to discover areas and people around us : walks, sightseeings, visit family and friends’,… You will of course be welcome to join us.

  Tu auras la possibilité d’améliorer tes connaissance en français et de découvrir la culture belge avec une famille ouverte d’esprit.
  
  La semaine, quand les enfants iront à l'école, tu auras du temps pour tes propres activités (cours de français, participer à un projet de maraîchage bio,…). Nous pouvons également nous mettre d’accord sur des jours entiers off, en fonction de nos agendas.

  Les week-ends, nous aimons continuer à découvrir la région et les gens autour de nous: faire des randonnées, des visites, rendre visite à la famille ou à des amis,... Tu seras bien entendu le/la bienvenue pour te joindre à nous.

  Help

  We are looking for someone who could :

  - bring 2 of our kids at school with our car some days of the week (2-3 days).

  - get them back from school and take care of them until 17:30.

  - play with the children inside and outside.

  - help us with the evening routine (shower, dinner, bedtime story,…)

  - help us preparing the meals if you like cooking :)


  
  Our oldest child is going by him self to school. The 2 others go to school near our home (10 minutes by car). School starts between 8.30am and 8.45am and finishes at 4pm except on Wednesdays when school finishes at midday.
 I work 2 days a week from home (homeworking) and go to work two days a week in Brussels. Antoine works outside. We both work 4 days a week.

  Nous recherchons quelqu'un qui pourrait nous aider pour : 


  - aller déposer deux de nos enfants à l’école avec notre voiture quelques jours par semaine (2-3 jours)
  - aller les rechercher à l’école et s’occuper d’eux par la suite jusqu’à 17:30.
  - jouer avec les enfants à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur.

  - nous aider avec la routine du soir (douche, souper, histoire,…)

  - nous aider à préparer les repas si tu aimes cuisiner :) 


  
  Notre fils aîné va a l’école par ses propres moyens. Les deux autres vont à l’école près de chez nous (10 min en voiture). L’école commence entre 8h30 et 8h45 et se termine à 16h, à l’exception du mercredi où l’école se termine à midi.

 Je travaille 2 jours par semaine à la maison (télétravail) et deux jours par semaine à mon travail à Bruxelles. Antoine travaille à l’extérieur. Nous travaillons tous les deux 4 jours par semaine.

  We are a French speaking family. My husband and I are interested to improve our English, German, Dutch and Spanish skills. Our children have some basic knowledge of English. It would be nice if you could share your knowledge in English, Spanish, German or Dutch or in any other language with our children. ___________ Nous sommes une famille francophone. Mon mari et moi souhaitons améliorer nos connaissances de l'anglais, de l'allemand, du néerlandais et de l’espagnol. Nos enfants ont une connaissance de base de l’anglais. Ce serait chouette si tu pouvais partager tes connaissances en anglais, espagnol, allemand ou néerlandais ou dans toute autre langue avec nos enfants.

  Accommodation

  We live in an old farm, middle of nature but close to the village and the public transport (bus). Although there are wide spaces in this house, it's well heated in the winter. As mentioned above, you will have your own bedroom and bathroom with shower, bath and toilet.

  Nous vivons dans une ancienne ferme au milieu de la nature mais proche du village et accessible en transports en commun (bus). Bien que la maison soit grande, il y fait chaud l’hiver. Comme mentionné plus haut, tu auras ta propre chambre et salle-de-bain avec douche, bain et toilette.

  What else ...

  We like travelling and discovering new cultures. My husband and I were involved in boyscouts organisations in Belgium, which helped us being resourceful. 
We live in beautiful surroundings, perfect for those who love nature and the great outdoors.

  
  We already hosted 5 workawayers. We really appreciated the people with whom we lived : a French girl, an Argentinean man, a Belgian -Dutch speaking- woman, a German and a Italian women. Five very nice experiences !! Welcome ;)

  Nous aimons les voyages et les échanges culturels. Mon mari et moi avons été impliqués dans les mouvements de jeunesse en Belgique, ce qui nous a rendus fort débrouillards. 
Nous vivons dans un environnement magnifique, idéal pour les amoureux de la nature et des grands espaces. 


  
  Nous avons déjà accueilli 5 workawayers. Nous avons vraiment apprécié chacune des personnes vivant avec nous (une Française, un Argentin, une Belge parlant néerlandais, une Allemande et une Italienne). Cinq superbes expériences !! Bienvenue ! ;)
