Family in Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, looking for part-time teacher with experience in project-based learning to help an 11 year-old girl doing virtual school.
We're keen to have someone for the 2018-19 US school year (August-April), that can assist with making learning fun and interactive, and conduct project-based learning style activities. Our daughter is enrolled in the K12 international academy in grade 7. We're looking for a positive, fun, creative yet responsible and disciplined teacher that can take on outside learning experiences to complement a virtual school experience.
We live in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos Islands. Saya is a fun-loving 11-year old, mature for her age, is independent, loves to cook, read, play the guitar, sing, run her dog in the morning and join her mum for pilates. She is a fun-loving active kid and we're keen to make her education more interactive. Ariana is an Ecuadorian born jeweler that makes original silver pieces in her main-street workshop. Karl saves unique island species from extinction, being a dedicated conservationist originally from Australia. Saya's dog Milo is short mix-of-all-breeds. He loves his owner, does a series of tricks and is a sterilized rescue dog. We're a bilingual family, even Milo.
We're interested in improving the available education experiences for Saya. For this reason, we're seeking someone with diverse interests and talents, that can help guide our daughter both in-school and life-learning.

Punctual, respectful, well mannered with positive energy.
Small independent apartment to be provided. Breakfasts at our house weekdays.
Airport for arrival is Baltra (code: GPS). Lots of activities available during spare time - swimming, snorkeling with wildlife, surf, hiking, running, cycling. Good spots for coffee and icecream. Close by beaches. Puerto Ayora is a town of 16,000 people. Main transport in-town is by bicycle.
