    Description

. My husband and I along with our son run a large Dairy farm 20 km west of Cork city in the South of the country. I also work outside the farm. Our 21 year old son also lives with us.

We have employees from all over the world .We have also hosted european students over the years. We are used to sharing our home with others and would like to share some meal times with you, learn about you and your country and share details of Irish life with you.

A good bus service runs from the local village to the city and the coastal town of Kinsale. We have accommodation on the farm this is usually a room in a house sharing with others. We also keep a few leisure horses and have 2 pet dogs who are part of the family.

Our farm is 10 km from the sea and 8 km from a good town so you wouldn't be isolated. We have a small apartment that would also be suitable for couples.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will have the chance to learn about Dairy farming g in grass based system as well as experiencing life in rural Ireland. We are close to towns with sports clubs .

We have shared our home in the past and enjoy learning about other countries. There is also a chance to connect with fellow travellers. I'm still in contact with some of old students and have been invited to some of their weddings.

There is also a chance to experience some horse riding events as we own two horses and I'm part of a local riding club. Our extended family lives locally and all are involved in Irish sports. Members play Gaelic athletic games and rugby.

There would also be work for someone with experience driving machinery such as tractors but this is not a requirement.

Minimum wage will be paid at a minimum. A work permit is required for non EU citizens. Unfortunately taxes also have to be paid. Employees are fully insured.
