SPACE AVAILABLE FOR 1, 2 or 3 WORKAWAYERS from July and on.
There are three houses in the farm. You will be living in one and my grandparents will live in the second one. The third one is unoccupied. General garden maintenance is needed, home sitting, caring for the dogs, keeping the house tiddy, painting inside and outside the houses, helping my grandparents with any task needed at the farm, and taking care of the farm vegetables and land/fence maintenance. 5 hours per day of work for 5 days a week will suffice. Someone clean, organized, self-driven, independent and enthusiastic is needed. You will be enjoying a big house, fully equipped and very comfortable.
About Me: Hola. My name is Chris, 31 years old, traveler and foodie. I'm renovating and giving more love to a farmhouse of the family that was abandoned and now I will be turing into a farmhouse-hostel/sustainable farm lodge. Life is very relaxing and peaceful here and I need some help with work. So, imagine a big property with three houses in it. Lots of green areas, orchard, hills and enough space to disconnect. (It will be open to the public once I return from travelling, so from November to January it will only need to be taken care of and given some love). One or two people can come to workaway here. Sometimes family comes to stay and enjoy the house, but most of the time it will be just for yourself. We need to be in constant communication via video call.
The farm: you will find plantains, bananas, cassava, ñame, squash, green beans, guandu beans, many fresh herbs, three types of limes, oranges, and a lot more we need to plant. The idea is to have abundance of everything here and avoid going to the supermarket for food. Vegetarians and vegans are welcomed. I eat everything but lately have been following mostly a vegetarian lifestyle. You will also find cows, dogs, chickens, many birds flying around and in the future I would like to have a pet pig and goat join the family. There are snakes, scorpions, bees, wasps, iguanas, sometime sloths, and many other insects that you may ocassionally see.
The house: the house is very comfortable, fully equipped (except air coditioning, not necessary at night, but there are fans for the day). There are 9 beds in two rooms, 2 toilets and 1 shower. It is very spacious, bright, and ventilated. The terrace is great for yoga, reading and hammock time.
Project: There are many things we need to accomplish. These projjects are divided into categories: Farmhouse, Garden, and Livestock.
Farmhouse: some of the houses need some painting inside and out. Cleaning & maintenance, repairs, decoration, painting, making it super cozy.
Garden: we currently do open-air gardenning and soon we need to build a greenhouse. The idea is to have varied and abundant food we grow ourselves to share with the future guests. We also need to take care of the ornamental plants and green areas. Rain starts in April so April and May are planting season.
Cattle: sometimes feeding the cows, fixing fences when necessary, and any other cow-raising related shore.
