We are looking for teachers or creative individuals with an interest in teaching, learning, critical thinking skills, design thinking, alternative education, creativity and arts as well as filming/directing. One or more skills mentioned below would be ideal for a volunteering position (but no worries, we dont expect you to be skilled at all. Simply pick one or two and let us know which field you would be interested in):

Teaching: The teaching includes teaching young learners (kindergarten) ages 3-6. There are three kindergarten classes: Baby Class, Middle Class, Top Class. We are using a mix of international (ACE) and local curricula. The teaching is simple and limited to teaching English as a second language but may include: Phonics, Alphabet, writing and reading letters, colours, games, songs etc. Though prior teaching experience would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. Most important is to make the teaching process fun and interactive. A love of children and a creative approach is the most important here. We are looking for alternative learning and active learning skills such as learning by doing, gardening, music experience etc. If you have any knowledge about these disciplines or Waldorf or Montessori Education, that would be brilliant. You can design your own lesson plans, apply multimedia learning (songs, internet, videos) etc and create games, do arts and crafts activities etc. As the local teachers dont know how to use computers and are used to worn-out traditional teaching methods we are looking for fun songs, group work activities and more interactive and innovative teaching methods. As the students are pushed quite hard we are trying to make the process more easy and fun and allow a child to be a child. We also have some activity corners you could join or even lead and contribute ideas to: Music Corner, Arts&Crafts Corner, Science Corner, Reading Corner, Playing Corner.

Marketing: Some experience with cameras, photography or filming and/or marketing may be an asset as we are trying to recruit international students and market the new project locally as well as internationally via all channels: TV, radio, newspapers and especially websites and social media.

Gardening: In the long term we want to grow our own food in order to be self-sufficient and sell surplus as an income-generating step. Thus we are also looking for people who have experience in organic agriculture, gardening or permaculture. This includes hosting our science corner and doing fun, easy science or gardening experiments with children.

Arts: any talent in arts, fine arts, music, innovation thinking, drama etc is also an asset as we are trying to make the school an innovative and creative learning environment. We are looking for creative and fun decoration for our Resource Centre, yard and classrooms and need more ideas for our Arts&Crafts classes.

Filming/photography: This can help with marketing as well as putting new good pictures on our website and Facebook page. Additionally, we want to make small videos and documentary films to be broadcasted on TV. We also make our own TV show with Primary School students called Devils Angels for which we need a new filming director. This project is for the Primary School section and volunteers can edit, shoot and direct new episodes for our TV show as well as coming up with their own projects. The school is thus looking for individuals with filming, shooting, directing, editing etc experience for this section.

Basically, we are looking for a fun, motivated and talented individual that can contribute in any of the above mentioned ways to our rapidly changing, creative and innovative learning environment.

We provide breakfast and lunch in exchange as well as accommodation and a transport allowance. We can also show you around, pick you up and guide you. Since the school day is from 8am-12pm you will have ample free time. No investments from your side required.
