I had the great pleasure to take care of Emily's and Emre's cats (Carl and Hexe) for one month. The two cats are just ADORABLE and it was a lovely experience staying with them in their cozy home in the heart of Berlin. Communication with Emily and Emre was easy, both are very kind and welcoming. They made sure I had everything I need and I can

Regina is a star!! She catsit for us for over a month and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable while we were away. Tons of adorable cat photos and lots of sweet updates. She was the first workawayer we had who actually (I think) made the cats happier than we do 😂 Not to mention the house was way cleaner than we left it. What a big

Regina is welcome back any time and we would wholeheartedly recommend her.
PS- the cats must have missed her because the first two nights after she left they both were meowing around looking for her 🥹
thank you again and wish you the best in all your creative and professional pursuits!

Zak looked after our cats while we went on a long-awaited tour around Europe over the Christmas and New Year holiday. Even though one of the cats was recovering from surgery which meant extra responsibility for Zak, he happily took it on and I immediately felt she was in good hands. He was so kind to give us news about how the cats were doing,

He was also generous enough to lend his organization skills in helping us get our new flat organized, which was awesome. The house never looked more tidy and the cats never seemed less interested in our return :) Thank you so much Zak and good luck with your life in Paris! We gained a new friend in Zak and wait for him to come back to Berlin anytime.

Well these guys were blooming lovely. A short stay but we were welcomed like old friends and spent some quality time getting to know each other with our film nights and even a day out to Ahipara. Emily is a wonderful, positive and engaging person with a really interesting story of travel and work which was a great insight.
We spent time playing

I was lost for a place to stay and within a few minutes of meeting Emily, she didn’t hesitate to help me out! In the short time I stayed with her I was made to feel so welcomed and comfortable! Not to mention she was excellent in the kitchen and provided such delicious meals, as-well as some odd creations we put together!
She was so easy to get
… read more along with and had some great stories! Emily also helped me out with lots of tips for my future travels around the world as she has plenty of interesting experience. She also took time out of her busy days to spend with me in the garden or just hanging out, Emily really made an effort to get to know me.
On my last day we went on a road trip together to a boulder nature park in the middle of no where. It was the perfect way to end our time together, with plenty of laughs along the way. I am looking forward to seeing you and lovely Gundi again!!Left by host for Workawayer (Romy)
Romy is a delightful person! She is warm, open minded, talkative and a great conversationalist. I was so impressed that she was able to come up with so many different conversation topics 😂 having her around was really fun for that reason. It was also really lucky to be able to host her since she found me at work by coincidence and we had space to

As for her work ethic, she was really enthusiastic about tackling a couple of wedding projects in the garden. She also was happy to drive me to the recycling center and face the Mean Recycling Lady of Kaitaia. Overall she was extremely helpful :)
On her last day we did a tour around some lesser-known parts of the Far North and did an interesting and semi-challenging hike.
Thanks for always complimenting my cooking and baking, even when it came out weird 🤣 hopefully we’ll see Romy soon at her home in Auckland!

Zoe and her partner Tom were our first workawayers in Kaitaia and they really exceeded our expectations. They were both really independent and proactive, finding stuff to help out with even when we didn’t have a lot to do. They completely transformed our garden from sad to fab and were confident about using whatever tools they could find. I gave
… read more almost zero direction and everything was done perfectly :) Normally we only wanted to host for five days or so, but we happily extended their stay to about 10 days so that they’d have extra time to enjoy the area and put a final Midas touch on the garden.
Household/garden tasks aside, Zoe is an excellent, incredible, SPECTACULAR baker. I like to bake and I thought I was competent, but man she really put me to shame with some of the professional quality stuff she was popping out of the oven. We will not soon forget the lemon cheesecake or the oatmeal cookies, especially since they have become a part of our not-so-skinny figures now. Trust, you will want to stock your pantry before Zoe arrives - once she starts baking, she basically never stops.
Meanwhile, Tom is a really, REALLY easygoing guy who seems to always be enjoying himself, even when expertly mowing our lawn - twice! I had fun playing video games with Tom (much to Zoe’s chagrin) and just hanging out chatting or playing with the cat. Their antics together really made my day, especially when sometimes the kitten is just too belligerent to handle. Thanks, Tom!!
In fact both Zoe and Tom were great with the Gundî, he loved them immediately (well he loves pretty much everyone immediately but still).
I want to thank you both for coming exactly when we needed you most and also being there for everything we could have needed help for. (dishwashing, prepping the spare room, bringing us snacks while we were at work, driving me to Pak ‘N Save, taking the kitty out for walks on his leash because I’m one of those embarrassing cat moms and the laughing stock of the street probably.....)
Simply put, you’re both legend and we’ll miss having you around. I will not miss the extreme workout or one-sided yoga however, but I’m sure you understand.
Best of luck catching some good waves around New Zealand and hope to see you in Tauranga again before I head back to Turkey!
PS. Yunus has no particular feedback, but he’d like to add that you are extremely good people, period. I guess he’s over the “goodnight” thing. Hahahaha.Help to create a free community space in Teuchern, Germany
