    Description

    Join us in Sardinia for the Janas Festival – Art, Archaeology and Nature
    Imagine creating art in prehistoric archaeological sites, walking through breathtaking landscapes, meeting artists from different countries, and becoming part of a cultural project that celebrates the ancient soul of Sardinia.
    This is the spirit of a non-profit cultural association that has been developing artistic and cultural projects for many years, creating original performances, festivals, artistic residencies, workshops, training courses and site-specific events that bring together archaeology, performing arts, music and nature.
    Our work is deeply connected to the extraordinary archaeological heritage of Sardinia. We believe that ancient places are not simply monuments to be admired, but living spaces where new stories, artistic encounters and shared experiences can be created.
    This year we invite you to become part of the Janas Festival, an immersive cultural event taking place in some of the most fascinating Domus de Janas (prehistoric rock-cut tombs and UNESCO World Heritage Sites) and other ancient locations across Sardinia.
    The Festival will take place during October, from October 3 to October 25, Festival Dates:

    3–4 October - location one
    10–11 October - location two
    24–25 October - location three

    More than a festival, it is a journey through landscapes, memory, creativity and community. Who are we looking for?
    We are looking for enthusiastic, curious and creative people who would like to experience the behind-the-scenes life of an international cultural festival.

    Whether you are an artist, photographer, filmmaker, designer, performer, organizer or simply someone who loves culture and working with people, there is a place for you in our team.

    You can help us with:
    event organization and coordination;
    communication and social media;
    graphic design;
    photography and filmmaking;
    backstage and logistics;
    stage design and artistic installations;
    audience reception and festival assistance.

    Calling artists and performers

    We are also looking for artists interested in developing original work inspired by Sardinia's archaeological heritage and natural landscapes. We welcome proposals for:

    theatre and physical theatre;
    dance and movement;
    music and sound art;
    performance art;
    land art;
    site-specific installations;
    participatory and interdisciplinary artistic projects;
    small performances along walking routes and archaeological paths.

    In exchange for your contribution, we offer hospitality, the opportunity to collaborate with other artists and cultural professionals, and the chance to create work in unique archaeological and natural settings.
    A unique place to create

    The Domus de Janas are among the oldest human-made spaces in the Mediterranean. Carved into the rock over 5,000 years ago, they are places of memory, mystery and beauty.

    They offer an extraordinary setting for artistic creation, including:
    site-specific light installations;
    theatre and dance performances;
    environmental and landscape art;
    artistic interventions that respectfully engage with archaeology and nature.

    Every activity is designed with deep respect for the historical, environmental and cultural significance of these places.
    More than volunteering

    Joining us is not simply about helping to organize a festival.

    It is about sharing ideas, meeting people from different cultures, learning through experience and becoming part of a creative community that believes culture can transform places and connect people.

    You'll discover hidden villages, spectacular landscapes, archaeological treasures and the warm hospitality of Sardinia while working alongside artists, performers, organizers and local communities.

    We believe that the best cultural projects are built together.

    If you are passionate about art, culture, heritage, photography, performance, storytelling, communication or simply want to experience something meaningful, we would love to hear from you.

    Whether you would like to join us as a volunteer, artist, performer, photographer, videographer, digital creator, graphic designer, organizer or cultural collaborator, you are welcome to become part of the Janas Festival family.

    Come to Sardinia.
    Create. Explore. Share.
    Walk the ancient paths of the Janas with us.

    We can't wait to meet you!

The Festival of Street art and Theatre in Archeological site, will take place in the center of Sardinia, in the Oristano area, on Lake Omodeo. The dates and precise duration will soon be defined.
