Who we are:
51ah is a charitable trust run by teachers & professors with the aim of fostering scientific temper and humanism in young people. We are Sneha, Sushma, Jahnavi, Sindhu (Sumangali), Yuga (Balya), Prof. Vivek, Patna Vivek (SFS), Nik (Asanvigyan), Mayoor and Arun to name a few . . . standing on the shoulders of more experienced and accomplished social workers such and Prof Narendra Nayak, Shyamsundar Rao and Dr. Konchady
What we do:
We work with youth to prepare them to speak well and clearly. We train them to ask questions, how to find things out for themselves, how to check for fake information and how to use logic, reason and science. You can see the result of our training on our weekly show on Sunday's at 4.30pm Indian Standard Time, organised by the youth and for these youth. Once the youth have spoken, teachers have a dialogue with the children (on the show) to check their logic, reasoning and information sources and if necessary offer suggestions or references to other sources. The aim is to help these children break the cycle of poverty.
Why we do what we do?
We were lucky to have good teachers, which is the gift we would like to give back to these young people
