    Description

Welcome to the historic hotel in beautiful Marifjøra, Norway!

We are a small team that has lovingly re-opened this charming hotel in 2025, with the goal of bringing its soul and unique history — dating all the way back to 1639 — back to life. Nestled by the fjord and surrounded by stunning nature, our hotel offers guests a peaceful and authentic experience rooted in local tradition and warm hospitality.

As part of our revival project, we are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Workawayers to help us with serving in the restaurant and assisting with guest services. Whether you have experience or simply a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, we would love to welcome you into our team.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a living piece of Norwegian history while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings of the Sognefjord region.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic Norwegian culture in a truly historic setting. The hotel dates back to 1639 and has played an important role in local history — you’ll be surrounded by stories, traditions, and architecture from centuries past.

You’ll get to know the rhythms of life in a small fjord village, meet locals, and work closely with a passionate team committed to preserving the charm and soul of this special place. We love sharing our knowledge about Norwegian food, customs, and the stunning natural surroundings of the Sognefjord.

In return, we’re always curious to learn from your background, language, and experiences — cultural exchange goes both ways, and we look forward to meaningful conversations and shared moments.

We're searching for friendly, service-oriented folks to work in the hotel's restaurant and dining facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include setting and clearing tables, offering food and beverages, and making guests feel welcome. Depending on your talents and interests, you may also be able to assist with basic housekeeping or reception duties.

We value a pleasant attitude, solid communication skills, and dependability; prior experience in hospitality is preferred but not essential. We will offer direction and training, and you will always be part of a helpful team.

A good level of English is required.

You’ll work around 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week, and have plenty of time to explore the beautiful fjords and nature around Marifjøra. We pay at least the minimum wage of our country and are committed to fair and transparent compensation.
