  • Description

If you are enthusiatic and 21 years or older I would like to invite you to come and stay with us here in Hebron and learn everything about the culture and history in this beautiful part of the world. We can offer you accommodation in our shared apartment and free Arabic language classes. In exchange, we would love for you to volunteer in our NGO or partner NGO in the area of Hebron. The possibilities are endless depending on what you interests are. We have 3 apartments ready for you to stay in, all fully equipped and very comfortable with access to a rooftop for spectacular views of the city. Our family live next door, so you will have full support of them including our delicious home cooking! This really is the best opportunity to live closely with Palestinian families and to give your assistance to use...we really need your help!

    What we are looking for:

    For our Hope Center:

At this time we have found a great need for people who have skills in the tourism industry especially in being able to network and promote Hebron as a must visit destination. We also welcome any volunteers who are enthusiastic about supporting tourism in Hebron and willing to help in all aspects of this area including in our guest house as this what supports local jobs and provides finances to expand our educational programs.

We are always happy to have experienced language teachers/instructors to work in collaboration with our Arabic and English teachers. If you can teach any languages, we would be interested in talking to you (in particular English and Hebrew but we also want to offer a wider range of languages). Classes would be predominately for women and children in the area. We also would love to hear from anyone who can teach any skill that would be useful here, you can be creative! You would have autonomy to create your own course as you would like it to be...whether it's an intensive 2 week course or longer, everything is considered! Contact us and we can collaborate.

For our partner organisations: we are looking for medical professionals, social workers, sports people, artists, musicians, tourism professionals, communication specialists, I said before, whatever your background we can find a place for you here in Hebron. Maybe you can volunteer in more than one site to suit your interests. People tend to be worried about the safety here. Palestine is very safe for tourists and volunteers despite the media portrayal. We can put you into contact with many other non-Palestinians who have stayed in the area who can explain the reality as it is.

An important note: we hope that you understand that it's not culturally accepted to consume alcohol or drugs in the area and we ask that you do not bring any with you. Clothing is modest for both men and women therefore we ask you respect this during your stay with us. If you're unfamiliar with the customs of Palestine then please ask us some questions or do some research before you commit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you in advance!

You would learn all about Palestinian culture, society and history including the fascinating situation as it is today. We can arrange Arabic classes for you with a teacher who has 25 years of experience (at no cost!). Also, we can teach you Arabic cooking...the food here is delicious! We have a pottery factory here so if you're interested in this, then you can come and visit there too. You can also visit the rest of the West Bank including many of our Unesco World Heritage sites in Bethlehem, Jericho and Nablus...including visiting the Dead Sea. Hebron itself is an ancient city with incredible Souks to wander around in, to really sense the vibrancy of this place.

  • Help

We have an immediate and ongoing need for people to support Ayman in the tourism sector as well as all the other aspects mentioned above.

The actual help is dependent on your skills and interests, so we can discuss exactly how we can collaborate. We are currently looking for people working in the education sector who can help deliver courses to the people here. Our volunteers have already established several English classes for a broad range and age of students and we welcome your contribution to supporing and expanding this sector. Our organisation is offering courses for free and we're open to any ideas for courses outside of language that you think you could offer/help with. Just talk to us and let's make a plan.

For the partner organisations, we are looking for doctors, nurses, medical students, student nurses or any other medical professionals for our clinic. We have a sports centre, so if you have skills in sporting activities then we would love your help. A yoga course has been started and we would love to keep this going. Courses in art, dance or music and pretty much anything you can think of could be offered and apprecated by the local community. Also if you don't have specific skills, don't worry because we also need administration staff, people to play with children in the playschool amongst other things...we can find a place for you just talk to our volunteer coordinator she will be pleased to hear from you.
