    Description

Welcome to Shonai, a beautiful and peaceful region in the north of Japan, surrounded by mountains, rice fields, and the sea. I truly love this land for its rich nature, deep traditions, and warm-hearted people.

I live a simple life, close to nature and the changing seasons. I enjoy growing vegetables, cooking with local ingredients, and sharing meals with friends and family. If you stay with us, you'll have a chance to experience rural Japanese life, help with small farm work, and learn about traditional food and culture.

My housemates are very friendly, and you will be treated as part of it. I also love taking visitors to “deep” local spots – hidden temples, quiet beaches, mountain paths that most tourists never see.

If you're looking for a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the real Japan, I think you'll love it here.

Our way of living is a bit unique – I am 30-year-old who live together with my 70-year-old man and his 30-year-old daughter in a traditional but stylish Japanese house. We enjoy a quiet and relaxed lifestyle in a peaceful rural area, surrounded by nature.

You’ll have the chance to connect with all of us as a family. We often cook and eat together, and we’re happy to share stories about Japanese culture, seasonal foods, and countryside life. We’re also curious to learn about your country, your daily life, and what brought you to Japan.

This is not a busy or touristic place – it’s quiet and slow, a good environment for meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and self-reflection. We welcome people who are open-minded, respectful, and excited to share simple, beautiful moments with others.

During your stay, you'll help with a variety of simple tasks around the house and garden. This includes cleaning, organizing, helping with meals, and doing laundry. I also have a small garden and field, so depending on the season, you might help with planting, weeding, harvesting vegetables, or preparing the soil.

Most of the work is easy and doesn’t require special skills – just a willingness to try and a good attitude. I enjoy exchanging ideas, teaching a bit about Japanese culture and life in the countryside, and hearing about your background too.

You’ll have plenty of time to relax, explore the area, and enjoy nature. I believe in working with care, not rushing, and keeping a peaceful rhythm. If you like being outdoors, working with your hands, and living simply, I think this experience will be a good match for you.

You’ll be staying in our traditional Japanese house, which is both classic and stylish. It has been carefully maintained and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The house is made of wood with tatami floors, sliding doors, and natural light. Many guests say they feel calm and relaxed as soon as they enter.

You’ll have your own private room, equipped with a futon mattress and clean bedding. Depending on the season, we’ll provide heaters or fans to keep you comfortable. The bathroom, toilet, and kitchen are shared with the family, and we ask everyone to help keep the common spaces clean.

Our home is located in a quiet rural area, surrounded by rice fields and mountains. It’s a perfect place to rest, think, and enjoy a slower pace of life. Wi-Fi is available, and we usually eat meals together in the dining area.

We hope our home can be a peaceful base for you while you experience life in the Japanese countryside.

Also, we usually welcome Workawayers for short stays, ideally no longer than one week. This helps us prepare well for each visitor and keep a good balance with our family life.
